The trulli , limestone dwellings found in the southern region of Puglia, are remarkable examples of drywall (mortarless) construction, a prehistoric building technique still in use in this region. In reviewing this landscape photo of the urban area, my post-processing choices have certainly brought out the vibrancy of the scene. The colors appear vivid, particularly the purples and pinks, which may be a bit overemphasized and could benefit from being toned down to more closely mirror the natural hues of the environment.

The sharpness across the entire image is quite striking, accentuating details in the architecture and the trees. This level of detail is something I strive for, yet I must ensure it doesn't render the image too harsh, as a softer touch can sometimes convey a scene more realistically.

My handling of light and shadow through post-processing has created strong contrasts, especially noticeable on the building facades and the trees. However, I might have created too much contrast, which can flatten the depth that naturally occurs in early morning light.

The composition itself, with the spire creating a natural point of interest, is strong. I’ve managed to capture the essence of the community with the surrounding buildings. Yet, in my post-processing, I have to be mindful not to let adjustments overshadow the subtleties that drew me to the scene originally.

In future edits, I plan to strive for a balance where my post-processing enhancements complement rather than dominate the photo, preserving the quiet beauty of an urban morning.

All Saints Church Pontefract. There has been a church on or near this site since Anglo Saxon times. The earliest parts of the current church date back to the 1300s. The church changed hands repeatedly during the English Civil War (1642-1648) and was hit by approximately 60 cannon balls, one of which was found embedded in a wall during recent renovations.
