Amtrak Empire Builder train with service from Seattle to Chicago, East Glacier on Marias Pass line Montana.
With the last car just clearing the Rum River, the eastbound Empire Builder passes the Northstar commuter rail station at Anoka enroute to St Paul Union Depot.
This is a shot that I did for a builder's portfolio. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
It's about 10-12 total layers. Sky and grass replacements. Several flash pops STU to bring up the lights a little. I tried to accentuate what was more than just lighting it all up.
âA job you have to do, or a job you want to do?â I asked as I approached. âOh I love it.â Was the answer. This is one of the roughest paths on Cader Idris, mostly used as a descent route. Erosion from footfall and weather has taken its toll. The massive chunks of stone are dropped in by helicopter and then chaps like this slowly manhandle then into place. Heâs been at this since September and has another year to go. Funding is an issue, having lost some in European money due to Brexit, so if youâre visiting, use the car park, pay the fee, it all helps these guys continue to improve and maintain the paths too many people take for granted.
Returning to Chicago on the eastbound Builder is a handful of horizons and amfleets from 'Snow Train' on the west coast, it's not very often you get to see Amtrak's single-level cars out here, especially on a 'warm' December day...

On 12-30-17, the late afternoon sunlight was resplendent upon the westbound Empire Builder at Milwaukee, with its typical three engines during the winter months for its trek across the high prairies and Pacific Northwest.
Skokie, Illinois. Fabulous sculpture outside the most mundane business strip in the world. There's a sculpture park nearby; maybe this one is in for repair.

One of Gunnars best clients is the well-known boat builder Hanko Swift. He runs his business together with his three sons.
After many memorable adventures on their travels, Elmar and Adele von Rabenstein finally decide to return home. With some of the golden coins from their treasure heist they buy a brand new boat with a custom yellow painting from Hanko and say "goodbye for this time!"
The Empire Builder pauses for the last in a series of switches needed to be thrown through the Minnesota Commercial yard area. MNNR personnel threw the middle switch shaving off valuable minutes of time spent navigating the yard complex itself. Overall, I give a big thumbs up to the look of the Siemens ALC-42s at night.

I photographed the builders and staff for a contracting company here in Ottawa. I think what's different about these is you rarely see the faces of who will actually be working on your home or business. L3 doesn't sub-contract any of it's work, so an in-house team means a bit of stability and I think a more personable approach. We shot these on a job-site so the dirt is real ;)

The Empire Builder at Chestnut St. A couple hours late as it descends Short Line Hill and heads to St Paul Union Depot.
In October 1996, a pair of F40PHs lead Amtrak's eastbound Empire Builder as it rolls across the familiar Two Medicine Bridge east of East Glacier, Montana.
There is a lot of orange on both the front and the back of the Empire Builder with BNSF 4574 leading and several private cars on the rear as seen from St. Clair Avenue in Saint Paul along Short Line Hill.
The beautiful bridge which crosses the River Cam at Trinity College dates from 1764 and was built by James Essex, a builder and architect who worked at many of the Cambridge colleges. It replaced a stone bridge built in 1651.

Eruei created this doll with the idea of building Aigara a new house for each planet she would visit, so she would have a place to sleep in everytime. However, he descarted the concept after realizing how impractical would be that idea: it would require to build a small house in less than a day, consuming a lot of resources around and leaving ultimately a lot of abandoned houses. Not only that, despise the amazing speed of building this doll has, it ended causing a lot of damage in the surroundings, which was quite a problem. But the doll was already built soo...
