A gift box for #buildtogive

It's on again! Time to start building gifts so that LEGO can give the gift of LEGO to kids in need.

Two warring imperial powers stop fighting and join together in No Man's Land on Life Day.

#BuildToGive

Today on December 1st it’s exactly one year ago that the Gingerbread House Project started on LEGO Ideas. Within one year the project gathered over 8000 supports. Many, many thanks!

To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the project I have been building another version of the Gingerbread House. This house may be a bit more appealing to girls with the pink colour scheme, heart-shaped windows and marzipan door. The house is just a little twist on the original and shows that with a simple change of colour scheme and some minor twists of shapes you can actually personalize the Gingerbread House any way you like it.

Wreath

#buildtogive

--------------------------------------------

I took a few days to assemble a life sized wreath this year for LEGO's Build to Give campaign. Each post with the hashtag will have a set sent to a child in need by The LEGO Group.

~30 hours, probably less.

Hello everybody. Here's a creation I made for the #buildtogive special from @lego . Black Friday is usually the day where my family and I start decorating the house, therefore I've decided to make that MOC :) . I really enjoyed building it and I had a lot of fun testing new techniques and part usage ideas. Especially finding the idea to use the medals as a decoration was very tricky, so I'm very happy with the result. Moreover I've used an old lego door from 1984 as a roof. You can find more detail pictures and tutorials on my Instagram account: www.instagram.com/balbo._/ . Thanks for watching :)

This little scene is build for the Eurobricks Xmas Raffle 2016.

This year the MOC theme of the raffle is SNOW. I was wondering what to build until the idea of snow sculptures suddenly popped up. Snow sculpturing is after all a bit like LEGO building.

This gingerbread house is my entry for the Eurobricks Xmas Raffle 2014. The MOC theme of the Raffle was: Your ideal Christmas gift.

I have always wanted a gingerbread house, because they look so cute. I have never seen one in reality... only on pictures and on the telly... so I figured it’s a good time to ‘bake’ one myself.

This gingerbread house has all the elements of a real cookie house: walls made of cookie, icing to ‘glue’ everything together, candy to decorate, caramelized windows and a little candle to put inside.

I had an idea for a Christmas themed build this year and it just so happened to turn out perfect for this years #BuildToGive theme of gifts.

I was pretty happy with how this one turned out with the crab bobbing up and down and swaying side to side. It honestly took way to long to finish because I would just sit there making the little crab dance instead of finishing it.

If you want to build one yourself you can! I have made instructions for this build are free on rebrickable.

A merry Christmas and my best wishes for the new year, everyone! After a year such as this, more than ever I wish you a year packed to the brim with long and warm hugs. Hug the people you love. Hug the people you only now realize you want to hug. Hug everyone who might possibly need it. Embrace each other and each other's differences.

It didn't work out last year, but this year I couldn't let the opportunity to participate in the BuildToGive initiative slide. So I'm back with a (vaguely) holiday-themed build which I put together surprisingly quickly over the last three days in between all of the festivities! Such speed was only possible because of the great stud.io program and my new laptop that does Blender renders ten times faster than the previous one. Sweet.

Anyway, I'm really quite pleased with how the expressions on the two structurally identical figures turned out with such a limited amount of bricks. And I also surprised myself that I was able to do so in a reasonably solid build as far as the core goes. Just don't breathe on those arms, but I guess there's no way to make them really solid on this scale. Either way, I hope you can hold on to your loved ones more tightly. And if you can't, I hope you can feel the warmth from the figures in this embrace!

Some thoughts on Cyclopic Bricks as usually.

The real treasure? Holiday cheer!

This Bricklink Studio model is inspired by the November-December 1998 edition of LEGO Mania Magazine, which featured a comic about Johnny Thunder's holiday mission. His vehicle of choice? The hot air balloon from 5988: The Temple of Anubis. In 2003, Johnny explores the frosty Himalayas in 7415: Aero Nomad. Thus, making a hot air balloon ornament for the Adventurers theme seemed fitting.

This Christmas Cookie is baked for the Eurobricks Xmas Raffle 2015.

This year the MOC theme of the raffle is 'Your ideal Christmas tree'. I like Christmas trees, but I like the edible ones even more! This cookie is extremely crunchy and is decorated with icing and candy. Just the way I like it.

This little fellow is my entry for the Eurobricks Xmas Raffle 2017.

The MOC theme of this year is 'Your ideal Christmas tree'. Well, I would like a tree with character!

Small enough to hang on the tree and can be decorated in various colors...

I decided to scale back on technology ornaments this year, but I couldn’t resist making at least one! The Old PC Ornament: 2017 Edition is a fun build that pays tribute to classic PCs. Guide available at chrismcveigh.com

LEGO Rebrick is currently running a contest to build a train for the 10259 Winter Holiday Station. Being a gingerbread fan myself I immediately began designing a gingerbread train.

The gingerbread train is made of cookie coloured bricks, tooth aching white icing and delicious crispy candy. The locomotive contains a small oven to bake pies. The tender is loaded with candy. The first carriage carries a big cake that rotates while riding and a big pie filled with pudding, croissant, pie and pretzels. The second carriage carries a small version of my gingerbread house that received 10,000 supports on LEGO Ideas last year.

A small scene incorporating my Star Wars ornament I made for RebelLUG's contribution to #BuildToGive.

Inspired by this comic! I always found this rather amusing, personally. It was fun doing my own version in LEGO!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's allow LEGO to be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it.

Pine trees are evergreen, coniferous resinous trees (or, rarely, shrubs) growing 3–80 m (10–260 ft) tall, with the majority of species reaching 15–45 m (50–150 ft) tall. The smallest are Siberian dwarf pine and Potosi pinyon, and the tallest is an 81.79 m (268.35 ft) tall ponderosa pine located in southern Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.

For every ornament built and shared with the hashtag #BuildToGive, the LEGO Group will donate a LEGO set to a child in need of play. Help to rebuild the holidays for children around the world, who need a brighter holiday season.

Or is it a star-shaped fractal?

One last ornament to support LEGO's #buildtogive.

I thought I ought to get started with #buildtogive, so to get me going with some inspiration, I thought I'd try building the master's designs first.

I didn't have all the right parts, so I improvised, of course.

These rejected Christmas ornaments were the outcome of Beyond the Brick's 24 hour livestream for Creations for Charity 2017. I experimented with just making the weirdest ornaments I could while participating on Friday night.

Also for LEGO's Build to Give campaign.

So, I decided to post one other. I really don't think I'll post anymore. Watch the first portion of the livestream to see other designs I whipped up!

Happy holidays!

Star Wars Factions RPG: A Galaxy Divided

[O6 - Dathomir - SCS]

[Life Day LTC] The SCS Life Day

The exploration on Korriban has proven a great success, with the system now under SCS's control and some Sith artifacts were discovered.

Royal Guard Champion Ereon Tas and archeologist Dr. Hawon returned to their Light Cruiser. It was time for celebration and joy of the Life Day, so they brought gifts (artifacts) to the Children.

But they were no ordinary children, they were the Nightsisters from the Children of Kreia, followers of Darth Traya from the Dark Covenant. They would be happy to see those Sith artifacts.

The Life Day orb, a Wookiee artifact, was a traditional symbol carried by Wookiees during the Life Day celebrations. It was the perfect gift to Mother Eisei in case she needed it to perform her dark Magick.

Finally, Ereon Tas presented the powerful red kyber crystal to Dr. Konran, a trophy from defeating the Tomb Guardian. Combined with his scientific knowledge, Dr. Konran would use it well and design a deadly weapon.
