from 1974, I think...spending time in abandoned trade schools has made me actually want to learn how to do these things...well, carpentry, anyway. See comment for back cover blurbs

This spring, renowned brick artist, Warren Elsmore and his team display some of their most beautiful and intricate mini-buildings and models in our Grand Gallery. To add to the set, they will also be on-site, building a special three metre model of our very own museum.

Our museum has been filled with inspiring colour and creativity this week. The Builders Yard on Level 2 has welcomed thousands of mini-builders, who have been busy creating a daily display of their work.

LEGO® builders often have to solve the same problems as architects designing real buildings, as features such as arches, trusses and cantilevers are just as technically challenging. Imagination is the key and this is just a small selection of some of the builds we spotted in our Builders Yard yesterday.

Builders Yard is running until Sunday 21 February as part of our BUILD IT! half-term activities at the National Museum of Scotland. www.nms.ac.uk/buildithalfterm

Our free Built It! display continues until 17 April.
