Giving Back Builds A Better Tomorrow!
Zeke Mayo is gearing up for the upcoming KU Jayhalk basketball season, but on Saturday, the Lawrence native was all about giving back to the community that helped raise him and and My Mid-West's photographer CLENZZ took some time to hang out with over 100 kids that participated and it was free for boys and girls in grades sixth through 12th. They also got a T-shirt jersey to wear during the camp.
Mayo said there were kids from Topeka, Olathe, Kansas City and a lot more and he was happy to meet all of them during the time slot and hopes it was a positive outcome for everyone who came.
”Yeah, I mean, I’m not really in it for the money,” he said. “I want to have a big impact on the young kid’s life because I didn’t really have something like that, growing up. I would always be out at a rec center, just playing pick up or whatever it was, but it really got the opportunity to get some learning tips from older guys. I just wanted to be there for them and
