These keep coming, brood after brood. There are still adults and nymphs of all sizes sucking the milkweeds dry. A group of nymphs were moving around on non-milkweeds like this, too. They didn't seem to be finding what they were looking for. Impressive feeding tube tucked under the body.

Notice the spike on its back. Wonder if anyone knows the purpose of it. This guy has an exceptionally long proboscis which its uses for hunting and feeding.

(Explored 10 8.10I took a photo of this bug the other day in my home-made light box which diffused the bright sun in my backyard.
And I can say it now, this was shot for a competition (vivid colours).

No kidding - bugs! I got home with 3 red bug bites! Although, I'd be more than happy to go again. The last two times I was there I got poison ivy and I warned the grandkids to stay out of the grass but I swear the red bugs know it's me and they come onto the path after me. I hear the little critters laughing in Arkansas (the ones there wait for me at the border.)
