As a child, I was really, really good. I was the one the other kids called "goody two shoes." I would never have written on the wall. So, by writing my "Bucket List" here, I was able to cross one off my list. . .being bad.

One thing I love about working in education is being around people that can teach you things. So yesterday we're in the staffroom talking about our bucket lists - the things we'd like to do before we die - and one of the things on mine is: To learn how to play chess and win at least one game.

Gareth offers to teach me to play, and today brought in his beautiful chess set with metal pieces. I played against him and Glenn and they taught me how the pieces moved. I felt like I learned a lot today and although I didn't win a game yet, it doesn't seem as impossible as it did this time yesterday!

Nice, Monaco, Menton, Sanremo, Imperia - the road follows the coast from France into Italy. It's one of those drives you ideally do with a few weeks up your sleeve to soak up each town, village and port.

I drove up through the middle of Italy from the coast to eventually arrive at Lake Garda, the largest inland lake in Italy.

When the people from the cruise ship docked here they were greeted by native entertainers.

The Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese is an extension of their factory housing a number of company owned vehicles.

Fierce rivals with Ferrari, Lamborghini have a similarly proud and rich history with many of their designs still head turners today.

Because dining out is so expensive our meals consisted of mostly bread and water. Just kidding! But food is costly with a hamburber priced between $30-40 U.S. dollars. We got some great advice from fellow travelers - split an entree and maybe an appetizer to save money. Our favorite place to eat at the HIlton is the Routi Bar & Grill.

Lecco was home base during my trip to the Monza Formula 1 Grand Prix. About 30 minutes away from the track it was not too far, but gave you a feeling of being on holiday.

A lovely town with the lake and mountains as a backdrop, wonderful town square & great food.
