Not a sugar shack in Chesterfield, NH. The barn glimpsed on the right collapsed with the snow this winter.
Well, while walking to my friend’s house, today, I saw smoke around my neighborhood’s pool, and wouldn’t you know, it was a brush fire. Two other people were trying to get the lifeguard’s attention, and several bystanders had already called 911, so I went ahead and fought the flames… with a Super Soaker and my Nalgene. It was actually surprisingly effective. The bulk of the flames, however, were put out by the bucket brigade and a fire extinguisher after I had run out of ammo. Safe to say, I got quite the adrenaline rush.
No pics because I can’t find my camera, and besides, would you really expect me to start filming while fighting a fire? This is 100% true, cross my heart and hope to die.
I’m seriously starting to consider firefighter as a career option now… it was kind of fun
This bucket was one of many hand made by a Mr. Wager (and his father and grandfather), the farmers who used many of these to catch maple sap for sugar until he replaced the whole set with aluminum buckets in the 1960s. Now it is used as a waste-paper basket.

Well, they're seats in a T-bucket. A nicely done custom interior, the speakers indicate a sound system of some sort. That Ford emblem might be the only actual Ford part, though perhaps the frame could be too. I think that's a can of bear spray under the passenger dash...

Ice bucket iin our hotel room. There is no ice machine in the hotel, you have to call housekeeping to bring ice to you. Note the bottles of Ketel One in the background, THANKS DUTY FREE!
Two leather fire buckets, riveted construction, the base uses rivets and roves/washers, the top band is thin metal. Similar buckets are in Cawdor castle.
Leather buckets back to at least the 16th century all seem to be 400mm/16" high and similar diameter.

...what water shortage?!?
Actually I don't give a stuff about water companies who complain about never having enough water, but does this person really need to just let it flow down the street because they're too dumb a**e lazy to wait till the bucket is full and turn off the tap?!?
