There are two guys playing "buckets" outside my office window. It sounds great for about 10 seconds, then it really, really wears on your nerves. So far though, I must say... it is way better than bagpipe guy.

Traditional Finnish mead ("sima" in Finnish) being prepared for 1st of May 2006. Mead in Finland is made of sugar (not honey like in many other lands) and lemons. It is an important part of celebrating First of May (Vappu). Finnish mead is typically alcohol free (the yeast produces minor amounts of alcohol but typically the drink is <<1% in alcohol content) and enjoyed by both children and adults.
In the recipe I used, the mead sits in the bucket for one day before bottling. I added some pieces of ginger to mine, which you can see floating among the lemons, but I didn't notice any change in flavour. It turned out really good, but three out of my six bottles weren't washed well enough and grew some sort of mould.
One of four buckets - 28 pounds - of blueberries we picked on Opening Day at Czaika's Blueberry Farm near Tawas City. This was our first visit and fortunately we heeded the advice given to us years ago - arrive early! By the time the gates opened at 6:30 A.M. a sizable crowd had already assembled. Definitely will be back next year!

You'd think in a 5 gallon bucket of PVC fittings I'd have everything I needed for this simple project. But NO! I had to go the the store for one missing item.
The Mexican water company moved a water meter the other day. I'm just now getting around to patching the pipes.
After shredding the paper with the tow behind I mix the paper with in a 5 gallon bucket. Several additives are added to the bucket at this point.

It was built in 1962 at a cost of $6.5 million by the Bucyrus Erie Company of Milwaukee. It was purchased by the Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Company of Pittsburg, Kansas. In 1974 it was silenced. This Classically Designed Belgian Art Deco Silver-plate Wine Bucket has a 3-tier shape reminiscent of an inverted Crysler Building. Straight from the Jazz Age, this is the type of object of opulent living I can picture F. Scott Fitzgerald drinking his bubbly from. And indeed, this bucket has been the belle of the ball, many a night. The interior is well used with a gorgeous turquoise tarnish that one can only acquire after more than half a century of parties lasting long into the night. While one could consider re-plating it to bring back it’s original splendor, I prefer the look as it is, with reminder of yester-years.
