Bubble in the bottom of a drinking glass, and the landscape behind it. Difficult to focus.

Winter - Soap bubble freezing on icy snow, showing stars

Today I attended a wedding of a friend. She and her partner have been together 20 years but decided to tie the knot in a lovely Irish inspired wedding at a Silvan farm. Although the rain came down we were warm and happy celebrating the love of our friends. This is a deliberate ICM photo of the bubbles and golden glow of the reception area.

My friend S had to leave the reception early. She will have a funeral to organise tomorrow. Sad but her mother, 94 years of age passed peacefully with family having been beside her for the last week.

A tour boat passes under the Columbus Drive bridge on the Chicago River. A self-appointed official bubble entertainer performs above.

I blew a little bubble inside the main bubble. The little bubble then fell through the bottom of the main bubble, and put this shock through the bubble. Caught the moment nicely!

How to best describe it? It like a bubble convulsion! A major bubble wobble!

I wouldn't have guessed that this process would cause all those droplets in the air. I suppose it must have!

I'm actually surprised at the sheer amount of shock that goes through a bubble when it convulses like this. I've photographed bubbles popping, and it's more of a disintegration of the surface than an explosion. Or so I thought. Sometimes I could swear that the droplets from a bubble seem to also jump out like an explosion. In this shot the convulsion seems to act a bit like an explosion, as is kind of evident from the droplets firing outwards. Those droplets actually reward close viewing, so feel free to look at the large and full size images.

I often get asked for the details/stats for these shots. You can find them in the EXIF, but the critical stat is probably that it's 1/500th of a second. Not incredibly fast, but fast enough to show you something you wouldn't see with your naked eye. I love 1/500th for bubble shots because the droplets look like streaks. Go much faster and the droplets become a smaller part of the shot.

Yep! Nice!

Bubbles in die blue sky

I've waited a long time to get a bubble shot - and it took 20 images until I got one I was happy with - could have been a lot more I know :P

I'm about to start three 13 hours shifts in a row :0( Don't feel sorry for me though as it is self inflicted :D

We're having a great run of good weather here in the UK - makes a nice change although some friends of mine are on holiday in France right now, and hope they are safe from the flash floods :0(

Hope to get to your streams in a bit :D

PLEASE FAV or COMMENT - thank you 😊

Last day of school!

froze quickly in -14°C temps today

and child-dlihc dna

Wanted a bubble that glowed in the dark so added the goop from inside a light stick to the bubble sauce. Put too different colors into the sauce and the result was very colorful bubbles. I didn't get to stay up til dark (painful back) so don't know if they did glow. I'll try it again.

More South Bank bubbles. And ex-bubbles.

One of my players brought bubbles to the field today and the kids ran around popping them. It turned out o be a great way to warm up before our soccer match. One bubble caught a nice breeze and as I focused it started heading toward the sun. I was lucky enough to snap a shot before one of the kids popped it or stepped on my stomach. We'll do bubble warm-ups again the team loved it. Taken for our daily challenge - shooting on your back

Forever flowing bubbles ,are now seen

Each one filled with a different dream
