Broadcasting tower is a new high-rise student accommodation building in Leeds city centre. One of its most interesting features is the COR-TEN cladding, which, upon exposure to weather, develops a rust-like layer, protecting it from any more corrosion.
Most of the people I know are not very fond of how the tower looks, but it's hard to deny that its interesting facade and unusual angular shapes make it a very suitable object for photography :)

In 1980 (when my study of the BBC really took off) there were 3 BBC 'Network Production Centres' in England. With the demolition of Pebble Mil, Birmingham & the move to Salford from New Broadcasting House, Manchester - Broadcasting House in Whiteladies Road, Bristol is the only one of the 3 still standing.
Home to the world-renowned BBC Natural History Unit, as well as a long line of antiques-based programmes on radio & tv (plus a great deal more since 1934).
Incidentally it's 25 years since I first walked through these doors.

Today, Athletes took to the slopes to represent their service in the Inter-Service Snow Sports Championship (ISSSC) 2016 held in Meribel, France.
With clear skies and a solid base of snow, BFBS Snowboard Cross took place at Moon Park. The racing saw it's fair share of action but the final verdict was Army on top for both males and females.
Here, 2 female members of the RAF Snowboard team drop over a step-down into scenic Meribel.
This event marks the 10th anniversary of the ISSSC at which 144 athletes from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force compete across 3 disciplines representing their respective service.
The Combined Service Winter Sports Association (CSWSA) has funded this event with the help of a variety of sponsors. The Association exists to promote excellence in winter sports within Her Magesty's Armed Forces, through the provision of annual all ranks competitions organised in a manner which affords prestige to those competing and enables subsequent entry into national and international competitions for the most talented.
