The 1L05 Swansea - London (Paddington) First Great Western High Speed Train (HST 125) crosses Porthkerry Viaduct in the Vale of Glamorgan, with a view of the Bristol Channel and Somerset coast in the background. High speed passenger trains use the South Wales main line between Cardiff and Bridgend but occasionally are diverted along the Vale of Glamorgan line which follows the coast from Llantwit Major to Barry. I thought it worth getting up early to catch the shot, which was taken at 04:54 as the sun started rising.

The Bristol Blenheim at Duxford is the world’s only flying example, rebuilt from Canadian Bolingbroke parts to represent a rare Mk I. A striking tribute to one of WWII’s early light bombers.

The Bristol Beaufighter, a versatile WWII aircraft, featured a top speed of 335 mph, a range of 1,750 miles, and a wingspan of 57 feet. Armed with four 20mm cannons and six .303 machine guns, it excelled in anti-shipping, night-fighting, and ground-attack roles. Its success lay in a potent blend of firepower and agility.

Arguably one of Britain’s finest stations, Bristol Temple Meads is an example of a railway station with character!

Located at the end of the Great Western Mainline from London to Bristol, Temple Meads is a key station offering local services around the Avon Area, regional and regional express services towards the Solent, as well as Long distance intercity services to London and the Southwest, as well as Long distance intercity cross country services to cities such as Manchester, Sheffield, Derby, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Dundee, and Aberdeen!

Bristol is a city, ceremonial county and unitary authority in England. Situated on the River Avon, it is bordered by the ceremonial counties of Gloucestershire, to the north; and Somerset, to the south. Bristol is the most populous city in South West England. The wider Bristol Built-up Area is the eleventh most populous urban area in the United Kingdom.

Iron Age hillforts and Roman villas were built near the confluence of the rivers Frome and Avon, and around the beginning of the 11th century, the settlement was known as Brycgstow (Old English: 'the place at the bridge'). Bristol received a royal charter in 1155 and was historically divided between Gloucestershire and Somerset until 1373 when it became a county corporate. From the 13th to the 18th century, Bristol was among the top three English cities, after London, in tax receipts.

Bristol was a starting place for early voyages of exploration to the New World. On a ship out of Bristol in 1497, John Cabot, a Venetian, became the first European to land on mainland North America. In 1499, William Weston, a Bristol merchant, was the first Englishman to lead an exploration to North America. At the height of the Bristol slave trade, from 1700 to 1807, more than 2,000 slave ships carried an estimated 500,000 people from Africa to slavery in the Americas. The Port of Bristol has since moved from Bristol Harbour in the city centre to the Severn Estuary at Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Dock.

Bristol's modern economy is built on the creative media, electronics and aerospace industries, and the city-centre docks have been redeveloped as centres of heritage and culture. The city has the largest circulating community currency in the UK, the Bristol Pound, which is pegged to the pound sterling. The city has two universities, the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England, and a variety of artistic and sporting organisations and venues including the Royal West of England Academy, the Arnolfini, Spike Island, Ashton Gate and the Memorial Stadium. It is connected to London and other major UK cities by road and rail, and to the world by sea and air: road, by the M5 and M4 (which connect to the city centre by the Portway and M32); rail, via Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway mainline rail stations; and Bristol Airport.

The Bristol F.2 was a British reconissance plane built during the First World War. The aircraft was used towards the end of the war in 1917.

My weekends work, I finished my aeroplane. :) This has taken 2 weeks of sorting, finding and building this model and it is easily my best creation yet. It would have been up earlier but I dropped it about 4 hours ago and had to rebuild it D:

Yesterday, in Bristol I witnessed an electrifying celebration of love, diversity, and equality as the city came alive with the annual Gay Pride March. As a street photographer, I had the privilege of capturing the essence and vibrancy of this empowering event through my lens.

The atmosphere was electric as the streets were transformed into a sea of colorful flags, flamboyant costumes, and beaming smiles. Participants from all walks of life united to march for LGBTQ+ rights, acceptance, and visibility. The energy and enthusiasm were palpable, as the city embraced a sense of unity and celebration.

Through street photography, I aimed to convey the individuality, beauty and the power of solidarity, showcasing the strength and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. I hope to amplify the voices of those who marched, reminding the world that love knows no bounds and that we are all deserving of equality and respect.
