I've been working on some code this week and finally got it working Friday PM. I thought I'd play around with my camera to celebrate :)
Though the subject isn't the most interesting, I'm quite happy with this shot. I had an idea of how I wanted the lighting to look and I pretty much nailed it on my first try. I wanted the warm glow of the incandescent to contrast with the cool light of monitors and strobe. I dragged the shutter to capture the screens and low ambient. I used my PM7500 bare, 1/32 power, zoomed to 70mm for hard rim light.
After weeks of creative stagnation, I was finally able to get out a full drawing, in one night, and I'm pretty pleased with the result. I might continue to darken the background (I'm wearing down my poor 6B pencil as a result) and possibly make adjustments to the hand/arm before I finish this off with fixative.
I don't know where the spark came from, but I hope that this is a sign of better things to come.
