Found a good angle to get some photos of waves breaking on the beach without getting wet

Just breaking - Dawn at Ribblehead Viaduct with the sun just breaking from behind Pen-y-Ghent. As the January sky ignites with a vivid intensity, Ribblehead viaduct stands silhouetted, towering over Batty Moss below. Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Words like violence

Break the silence

Come crashing in

Into my little world

Painful to me

Pierce right through me

Can't you understand?

Oh, my little girl

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

Vows are spoken

To be broken

Feelings are intense

Words are trivial

Pleasures remain

So does the pain

Words are meaningless

And forgettable

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

The far side of Penguin Island

Was waiting for a sunrise burn which didnt happen... but thought it would be cool to do a pano stitch of the light breaking through the low hanging fog. I especially like how the water surrounding Alcatraz was lit by the leaking light.

This year, spring is coming early to Newfoundland. You are looking at the ice break-up on New World Island. Harp seals were sunning themselves on the ice this Easter weekend but I couldn't get a photo because they were too far away. In a couple of weeks, the seals should be closer to shore on the pack ice..

The Brekaways, late afternoon, near Coober Pedy, South Australia.

Shot at 135mm and also cropped in tighter to give the scene more impact.

Sunrise breaking through the mist over Red Deer

Out in the woods today after a two week break.

The day began dull and very misty so I was happy to find the sun breaking through just after I arrived at my destination.

Breaks my heart to see her like this but she's gonna be O.K. !! :)

6 hrs at the hospital today.. had only one scare....after talking with the doctor and being told the surgery went fine and that they would call me back any minute to be with my daughter....I felt like I was waiting for hours... then FINALLY when they did call me I asked the nurse what took so long...she explained when sissy was wheeled into recovery she was still sedated and when they removed her tubes for whatever reason she decided to lock her jaw and bite down on her tongue in the process.....they had to pry her jaw open and shove a tube back down her throat and give her oxygen......wth??...yeh so now she's got a swollen tongue and two puffy lips!! :(

The doctor ended up using two medal bars to secure the bone and she will have to return in 6 weeks to have them removed...I don't think she was ready or expected it to be as bad as this..and not being able to use her arm for the simplest things like opening a bottle of water has frustrated her to no end.....and then theres the pain..the medication the doctor gave us isn't effin working!! I've got calls in to two different doctors and I am waiting for a damn call back!! I can't stand to see her cry!! :(

I'm going back to cuddle her now but wanted to give you all an update...and thank you so much for all your well wishes and prayers!!! MUAHS!!

I shot this interesting and colourful scene of everyday life from while driving through the streets of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.

The sun breaking through at Duckspool in North Cornwall after we drove down into the mist filled valley in the previous image.

P.S. I deleted every non-individual comment. Don't be mad! It just takes forever until the very last icon has been loaded, so I only kept the most important ones. ;-)

PS On my MacBook, Flickr resizing is causing fairly horrendous artefacts and sharpening on this image. Maybe use + or view original size if its a problem on your setup too.

Oh no, I was doin' better alone

But when you said, "Hello", I knew that was the end of it all

I should've stayed at home, 'cause now there ain't no letting you go

Something about Kluane's snow-covered mountains always gets me dreaming. I just love the way the dark rock breaks through the massive icefields in this park. This was from a flight tour in 2019 - probably the most prolific hour and a half block of photography in my life so far! I'll be taking another crack at the area this coming fall, so hopefully more of these to come yet!

Immature bald eagle taking a rest in north Idaho.

Another shot from the gloomy, dark, rainy Sunday out with the dog. The secret trout fishing stream (and yes, it really is [kinda] secret) I stumbled upon opens to this portion. This is only about 15 feet off the road and yet seemed completely secluded. Scotch was happy I didn't drag him out in the near freezing temperatures and rain. This was the first shot I took after setting up.

Same morning and tree as Fog Bound.....The sun breaking through and the light changing to a much warmer cast.

After playing on the beach for a while, it was time for a break and to just enjoy the warmth of the sun on us in December, unusual for us Brits who are normally wrapped in jumpers and coats at this time of year.

After a tough ride into the forest, it's time for coffee and bacon butties/cake, and to enjoy our surroundings. Looking over Llyn Brenig towards the Clocaenog forest.

I thought I'd make a change from beach reflections, and this is another growing obsession, long exposures of rock detail. it's so easy to get so absorbed in this fun, that the incoming waves remind you everything's moving. It's a wonderful solitude. Breaking into heaven by The Stone roses is as good a title as any. Off to Pembrokeshire today for a change of scene, and I may pop up Pen y Fan again tomorrow morning.

From November last year. I reached the summit of Red Pike and witnessed the last of the sun breaking through the day. For the rest of my walk along the High Stiles ridge it was grey clag and then twilight for my slow descent to Scarth gap and Buttermere.
