I'll get back to normal photography from tomorrow, but just a few examples of photo manipulation today to pose some questions. When Aldous Huxley wrote "Brave New World" in 1932 he could not have imagined how prescient it would be. Along with George Orwell's "1984", both books go together and mirror the world in which we live today in frightening ways.

The Felixstowe Christmas day dip was cancelled because of the inclement weather, some braved the waves and the cold regardless.
London, Millenium Bridge.
I gave this picture the title "Brave New World", because as I read the novel "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, it created a image of that world in my mind which was somehow similar to this picture here.
In the deepest of the cold season, this little fellow seem quite lonesome in the snow ....

Grace went with friends today to see the movie 'Brave', and then came home and fashioned bows and arrows for herself and her sister (out of clothes hangers and sharpened chopsticks). I love when their imaginations take them to creative places.
There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it.
I HAD to have a get together for the Royal Wedding, and I HAD to scrap it. Used the decorations that I downloaded (for FREE) from Tomcat Studios to also make the layout. Loved how fast this one came together.
It seems that often my Lego folks wander onto another toy set that isn't theirs.
Apparently he found an Alien's Hell-Hound.
But Brave Elf that he is ... he is a quick thinker!
Many many thanks for all previous comments and fav's :-) As always greatly appreciated...Best wishes, Dean
[Log Entry]
I'm bruised, but alive. I haven't made any logs before this, but I could easily die here. I was patrolling space around the Venator I was assigned to when I was jumped by Vulture Droids. I spiraled out of control until I came into the atmosphere of this small moon. My comms are shot, and I'm all alone, in a brave new world.
[Log End]
This was just something quick I whipped up. In all honesty, the photography is... bad, but I still wanted to post it. I went with a log entry cause I'm dying to revive Guym. I'll get to his soon. I may or may not continue this 'series', we'll see. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy!
People brave the dubious seawater. Shot on Kodak Tri-X 400 using a Canon T70 with Tamron SP 500/8 reflex lens.
A group of photographers brave an exceptionally rare Seattle thunderstorm while searching for the perfect shot from Kerry Park on August 9, 2013.
Taken a couple days ago when I was experimenting with lighting and for this shot, with movement.
I know this is overexposed, but to me that doesn't matter; my only goal here was to make sure my face was not over or under exposed.
Anyway. I didn't get the job. I won't lie; I was really bummed out about it at first and it's been keeping my mind occupied, which is why I haven't felt like flickr at all or anything else really. But that's done, I'm moving on and I'm regaining my optimism.

He didn't stay in long!
New Brighton on a lovely Autumn day March 26, 2014 Christchurch New Zealand.
New Brighton is a coastal suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand, about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) to the east of the city centre.
Yesterday I took two friends from Köln, Germany around some sites in our city. Unfortunately this was a spontaneous pose too far for Florian's girlfriend to record! Just a 25 m drop to deep sea below. I wouldn't have taken it either but composition took the better of me.
No German's hurt in the making of this picture, just some fast heart beats :)
In other news expect more sense in American politics after Kiwi businessman Chris Liddell was been given a top role in US President Donald Trump's White House. (deputy chief of staff for policy coordination)
