This wee guy was part of the "London to Brighton" race. I loved his goggles/outfit and when I asked if I could take his picture he came up with the cutest wee grin.
Just outside of the temple of Wat Chiang Man in Chiang Mai I caught this boy sporting a traditional cap made from a local hilltribe.

Locomotive 4023, built in 1944, was one of 25 "Big Boy" articulated locomotives. Designed in Omaha by Otto Jabelmann and his engineering team to support the nation's entry into World War 2.
It weighs 1.25 million pounds and has a pulling power of 7,000 horsepower at 70 m.p.h..
The last run of 4023 was July 20, 1959. Eleven days later, it was placed in storage in Cheyenne, WY. It was officially retired in 1962 after logging 829,295 miles. It has been on display in Omaha since 1975.
This young man was running up and down the beach, playing with his dog and being very energetic. They both seemed to tire of the game at the same time and stopped on a rock overlooking the beach. Taken somewhere in Northern Ireland, I can't remember where.

Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)"
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,
Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both
Just have to be patient

I've revisited this photo from 2008. I think of it as my hole-in-one shot. I had bought my first DLSR just a few weeks before this family wedding, and managed to get several good shots without knowing even some of the basics of the camera. So, it's like getting a hole-in-one on your first golf outing. I was hooked on photography after this image of my nephew Will.
