a very new box by melisande.
actually I started to fold it because the cp looks so nice and simple. I hadn't been aware of how cool the lock is. very wonderful indeed. great design, melisande!
folded from khepera bookbinding paper which was a delight.
Paper: Octagon, Hexagon, Pentagon cutted from Wrapping Paper, 10 cm Square

I found the diagram for the triangle box in my last year's Origami Calender. After folding it, it was obvious that this works for any polygon. So I made some more. Most fun was the square box: Starting with a pentagon, just to end up with something square was kind of weird....
Shot with a massive Thornton Pickard box camera, using Fuji Acros film respooled onto a 126 roll. I need to work out the light leaks and how far to advance the image and plan to experiment with this camera again. The negatives are massive-- about 6" long.

Arad means Bronze in Hebrew, and this is his chosen box, number one.
Its quiet, yet distinctive. Its very simple to fold, and beside the grid (4x4) only 4 crease lines are added.
the search is over, we have a winner!

This cigar box could not have had the blessing of George Eastman who prosecuted all copyright violators. Perhaps that is why this box is not more common. I have seen old tobacco cards that say "Smoke a Kodak". The front of the box says "Snap Shot" which is a more common cigar box and label to find.

She took the key, slid it into the lock and turned it. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes and slowly lifted the lid of the box. She opened her eyes and looked into the box, expecting to see fine silks, gowns or gold bracelets and necklaces or even piles of gold coins.
But there was no gleam of gold or treasure. There were no shining bracelets and not one beautiful dress! The look of excitement on her face quickly turned to one of disappointment and then horror. For Zeus had packed the box full of all the terrible evils he could think of. Out of the box poured disease and poverty. Out came misery, out came death, out came sadness - all shaped like tiny buzzing moths.
So it's a bummer that you can't see my greek inspired makeup and all here. It's pretty cool~
But anyway I'm not sure if I like the way this came out or not. I'm striving to the level of Luminous Lu's photography and editing skills and when I see a picture in my head and it's her style and then I'm not as good as her it's depressing.
But I still like this I guess.
I'm lonely.
I get lonely too often.

Recently I saw the 6 Point Logarithmic Stacked Star by Georigami and was inspired to fold this box from one hexagonal Tant paper for the lid and one for the bottom.
Lego 10708 Green Creativity Box builds. These are the builds in the instruction book. There are also pictures of other builds you could make. I will most likely be scavenging from this for other projects. There are three other Creativity Boxes available in blue, red and orange.
Nope, this not part of U.S Airways flight 1549 part, LOL.
This is like blackbox during world world 2 era..
There was a factory in Crawley called metal box but I would not have worked there because the name was so uninspiring
I was delighted when my first posting as a signalman took me away from station located boxes - which is where my first two locations were. Mainly due to when the station was unstaffed, you were the focal point of passenger enquiries....and the person for them to vent their spleen if a train was late or cancelled!
I'm pretty sure Helsby would have been the same until the staircase cage was erected....
The signalman at Pottington hangs precariously out of his box window; instead of using the stand provided; to hand-over the token to an approaching DMU from Ilfracombe, for the short single line section to Barnstaple Town, which can be seen to the rear of the box. The structure was literally built on the bank of the Taw estuary, and although the waters are tranquil on this day, they must have been very rough at times at this exposed location and the box somewhat draughty. The structure is an LSW Type 3b stone-to floor box which opened on 4th August 1890 when the section between here and Braunton was doubled. It possessed a Stevens & Sons Tappet frame of 19 levers and originally the single line to Barnstaple Town was worked by Tyer's No.3 tablet, later replaced by Key Token. With the singling of the line to Ilfracombe in December 1967 using the former Up line, Pottington was reduced to ground frame status to oversee the adjacent swing bridge. It closed for good along with the Ilfracombe branch on 5th October 1970

An elegant Origami folded box I made using a new Hero Arts quatro stamp set. I used only the inside part of the stamps so they are small and I think that they qualify for this week's HA "little stamps" challenge. My cards inside the box are 4" x 4".
I used the beautiful new Basic Grey Porcelain paper. On the cover I used the small butterfly from one of the 4 stamps and the large butterfly. Love those butterflies. I covered the large one with Diamond Stickles. I did not stamp any sentiment on the card, because I want to add it when I know what I need : Thank you or For you or Happy Birthday....

This is the west end of Llanelli station, I am stood on the 'up' platform on 24 March 2018 as Arriva Trains Wales Class 175 numbered 175001 passes 'Llanelli West SB' whilst working train 1V36, the 07.30 Manchester Piccadilly to Carmarthen.
The 'box now no longer only operates the barriers here, as both those east and west of the station are operated from Port Talbot, as are the signals.

This could be a photo of numerous things...a closeup of a circuit board? Push buttons of some sort??
It is actually a shot of the W Hotel in downtown Austin. The "boxes" are the balconies on the side of the building.
Originally, the balconies were boxed in by clear glass, but many of the glass panes started popping off and falling to the ground a few weeks back. They had to close the hotel and replace all the glass panels with these black panels (not sure what they are made of)

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I've always wanted Treasures! Bratz dolls, but I haven't had the best luck finding them at flea markets and second hand stores. I do recall vaguely when this collection hit store shelves, back in 2005. That was the last year I purchased dollies as a kid. By that point I was starting to feel embarrassed and self conscious about my dolly hobby. That did not mean, however, that I didn't WANT all the Bratz in stores. I just pretended I didn't like them. I think I even made some comment about how gimmicky this pirate themed Bratz collection was (though I secretly coveted it). I had to resort to buying this Sasha online. I figured there was a slim chance I'd find her in the wild. Even if I did, it was even less likely she'd come with any of her cool stuff. I saw her listed on eBay sometime in early 2013. The seller I bought her from had three other Bratz dolls I was interested in, and she was willing to combine shipping. I was really surprised that nobody bid against me for Sasha...I think I got her for $21 before the combined shipping price. Of the four dolls I bought, Tokyo a Go-Go Sasha and Treasures! Sasha were definitely my favorites. I actually hadn't even been intentionally searching for this doll, if I'm not mistaken. I had typed in Tokyo a Go-Go Sasha into eBay, found the doll I ended up buying, and scoped out the seller's other listings. This is still a shopping technique I use to this day. If a seller's price and item are appealing, chances are they will have other stuff I want too. The extra special thing about Treasures Sasha and the other Bratz I acquired is that they were all the woman's childhood dolls. She must have been close in age to me, since our era of Bratz growing up was the same! She was very excited that I bought so many of her dolls, since she needed the money and wanted them all to go to a good home. Knowing the backstory of Miss Sasha and her former housemates endeared me all that much more to them!
