A box turtle decided to walk along our sidewalk to the home, so i picked it up and moved it to a safer area and took a couple of photos.
I used the 100-400mm along with an extender so i could shoot closer than the 6 foot minimum focus distance. The extender, which is basically a ring with no lenses, allows very close focus but does not let you focus after say 6 feet.
Small (mainly) linen and cotton quilt from recycled and reclaimed fabric. The background is dark blue/black. Ok, so there is a touch of green in the boxes too!

For A Painter...
What I envy about painters is that they generally do their art in one place. A studio. You don't meet many mobile painters.
To do my thing, I have to move around. That moving around allows me to see things. The one-off things are generally related to other things that I have seen. And sometimes I am able to piece those things back to people I know or know of.

it is the side of a box of wooden kitchen matches-- the place where you strike the match to set it aflame.
This was part of the collection of ornaments from Dan's family. I took some photos before everyone took the items they wanted. I love the graphics on this box.
Maybe the coolest Pop Corn box ever! I can picture kids watching a sci-fi b-movie at a theater while holding this box and eating popcorn.
Game of Thrones has re-started and my partner and I love to cosy up on the sofa together and admire the costumes. Shame it will be a long wait as we don't have satellite, just have to wait patiently for the box set.
