Screenprinted, velveteen-lined, pine box...with Coney Island microfiber necktie.

By Cyberoptix TieLab.

Box is varnished and each one is somewhat different due to the differences in woodgrain pattern.

Two-part box holds one necktie comfortably and protects from wrinkling in transit.

"the woman took off the great lid of the jar with her hands and scattered, all these and her thought caused sorrow and mischief to men. Only Hope remained there in an unbreakable home within under the rim of the great jar, and did not fly out at the door; for ere that, the lid of the jar stopped her, by the will of Aegis-holding Zeus who gathers the clouds. But the rest, countless plagues, wander amongst men; for earth is full of evils, and the sea is full. Of themselves diseases come upon men continually by day and by night, bringing mischief to mortals silently; for wise Zeus took away speech from them.""

When I was a child I was obssessed with the story of Pandora's Box and I used to love to imagine the secrets stored in other boxes.

I probably won't be able to take any proper pictures of my new arrivals just yet, since I have a lot of working days ahead :( But I'm looking forward to it!

And I also just realized I will only do two more box openings, then I'm done for the year! :O If I'm able to hold back that is, who knows what cute releases there will be this summer x)

Found this box turtle this morning on the boardwalk. The shell is so beautiful.

Way off theme for this week and probably a sign of desperation... Taken late tonight so focus and DOF are really not good at all. At least there is something here that I can learn from considering the conditions the photo was shot in.

It will have to do for today. Better to have a photo for the day than miss it entirely in my opinion.

Too long of a day today dealing with issues with the house (fix-it issues that is). This wasn't the issue of the day. This stemmed from this past weekend when the pool pump motor decided that it had lived its last day. In the process of replacement (which has yet to be completed) and wiring, the outdour electric box recepticle lid broke along with a screw breaking off that held the cover on. Needless to say, the entire box and contents were replaced.

Maybe I should have taken a picture when I was disassembling everything because that old stuff may have met the 80's theme this week.... :)

25¢ from a yard sale. Might save these until Christmas.

I liked how they stack and also nest. Each one has a working key. We have the ABC and the 123, but not the other shapes.

Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.

Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.

Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’

Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

My newest creation. You take the tulip and make 2 flowers the same for the top and the bottom. Then design the sides to match up with top and bottom.

Custom box I made for the custom 3" Dunny Samurai I made. It's a blatant play off of Hokusais wood block print.

The Art Nouveau figure on this box is from a postcard of a Mucha poster,

ODC2. Box.

Ok, so today I thought I'd think INSIDE the box ;-) be a little different there.

First let me say I started off a different idea, Origami. The most stupidly difficult task ever. I unsucessfully made a mess of a box which I was going to be all creative with, but that failed.

So this was my backup plan.

I emptied this giant box in my parents room, and climbed in, but this was the best I could come up with I'm afraid as I lost the will to live after my Origami.

I shall attempt it again though so wish me luck! >.<

Happy Sunday everyone.
