Main box approx (in inches)10 x 8 x 7
OK, the object inside the (small, white with additional packaging internally!) box was a bulb for use in a piece of specialized equipment and as fragile as most tiny halogen bulbs are..
But I do think the packaging was a bit of overkill – an additional (removed to take photo) foam layer was on top of the bulb box.
The only clues that I have so far are these. On the back of one of the boxes there is some hand writing:
“Decoration Day Procession” which later became Veterans Day.
“Crematory”
“1898”

Vintage Cedar Cigar box, with rod piezo pickup in a new bridge I made. New bone nut I made. Diagonal bracing added inside. Bruno mando neck from 1920's round back - a challenge to attach. Sounds and plays pretty well after lots of tweaking.

While cleaning out his attic, my brother came across a box he didn't recognize. It turned out to be mine - a box of my childhood treasures, including a photo of my great-grandfather given to me by my great-grandmother, an old pair of glasses, broken foosball men, several pages of stickers from a 1970s era Mad Magazine, misc electronic parts, a homemade cassette tape of Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy, ...
The box itself is from high school, where I spent most of my free time in the darkroom. Whenever I visit a darkroom today, that strong acidic smell of stop-bath still makes me feel nostalgic.
Top view: The five dots are just small segments of dowel tapped into shallow holes. A nice easy way to give the otherwise plain top a bit of style. I give credit to my wife for this variation on that theme. I had something else in mind, but this is better.
An ancient silver box.Jewelry and trinkets where kept in it.Over time, it served no other purpose then to be beautiful and display itself.

For all the packaging thumbnails (book & box) I am mainly just playing around with type placement and a few design element ideas. So I need help on choosing what sort of layout works best or would be most interesting. I do want to keep things clean and simple as far as type and layout, but when it comes to illustration, that's where I want the eye to go immediately. As far as illustrations, they aren't complete, but I have them going in a certain direction to best fit the logo and the plot of each book.

My pill boxes on the end of my bed. I was on blood thinners and two other kinds of medicines. Now, I'm just counting the days (or, months) when I'll be off of those pills completely. I wish to thank all of ya' all for all your prayers and well wishes while I was off line. "All of ya' all " is just good Southern English! Ha ha ha ha!

This is a nice reproduction of a Chinese traditional pillow. Used for good neck support as well as secret storage.
One of the best little books I ever read is from Japan, 'The Pillow Book of Sei Shonogan.' Written in the 10th C Japanese court by a courtesan and kept hidden in her pillow box, she wrote delightful lists and observations..
ODC friends, another faithful member of ODC visited me here in Mendocino last weekend. You can glimpse our little meet up in the set, 'Eliza's Visit.'

Shadow Box picture frame to frame a paper cut out art from China. The frame is made out of Texas Pecan left over from another job and I've spaced the artwork out from the white background to capture the Shadows.
