The driver of DB Shed Class 66 No. 66086 hands over the token to the signalman at Buxton signal box. The train has come down from Great Rocks on the 4M82 from Walsall Freight Terminal destined for Dowlow Briggs Sidings. The train will continue forward to Buxton Sidings where the loco will run round its train for the journey to Dowlow on the line right of the signal box. Thanks to Nigel Capelle - www.flickr.com/photos/whosoever2/ - who was kind enough to furnish me with the information to find this location.
Taken at f/1.4. This is one of only three or four items that connect me to the past 20 years of my life. Aside from this, and the few other 'items', life started over for me two years ago, and this is one thing I have been able to keep with me. I hand-made this box several years ago. It is what's inside this box that counts. The few other things that connect to my former life are inside of this. I made this box to look like an antique....
LANDMARKS is a series of four temporary, outdoor visual artworks sited at popular locations around the Forest of Bowland. Inspired by the beauty and character of Bowland, and with an understanding and respect for the area, the pieces aim to delight and challenge - encouraging audiences to look at the landscape in a new way.

DDC "Boxed in"
In the early stages of "Nosework" training, the target scent is placed in a box. Then, a group of 12 identical boxes is searched by the dog. My dogs already find this exercise to be super easy. In this photo, Shyla is starting to alert on the box with the scent but can't figure out why I'm snapping photos rather than giving her treats!
Sometimes you give a child a present and they actually get more enjoyment playing with the empty box than with the contents.
I confess I am a fan of thoughtful gifts, particularly if the wrapping is hand-made. On the other hand, this is the box from a gift I gave my daughter on her 18th birthday, it is simple but says so much.
the box moth look out for these guys if you have box (buxas)hedging the caterpillars will strip it and kill it which is heart breaking as they take so long to grow
…of set sizes.
Yesterday afternoon I made these flower boxes.
I’ve now given them 2 coats of paint / stain.
The three long ones are 8ft long, one is 70 inches long, one is 34 inches long, and one is 11 inches long. They’re all 4 inch wide.
Made for a specific purpose at home.

From square, 5x5 grid.
This is a variation of the collapsible box.
Which is eventually better than the original, I think.

Fringe box office in Bristo Square, by Edinburgh University. Normally this square is filled with students and youngsters on skateboards using the space, but during the Festival in August it is filled with pop-up venues for performances and for drinking (the old joke is that almost very spare broom cupboard is pressed into services as a Fringe venue in August).
Quick night shot with the phone as I was passing on my way to the nearby Edinburgh International Book Festival (the Edinburgh International Festival, Fringe and the Book Fest are already on, with the Film Festival starting later this week - it's all go in Edinburgh in August!)
One of Jerry's toys made by Arnold from the early 50's It has a winding mechanism that makes it go and another thing to make it turn right and left.
The box is so cool I had to show it off
