The sun, sea, sand and margaritas have been wonderful. But it is now indeed time to go back to the slworld. I have a house that still needs decorating, and some other things to do so it's a quick check of the emails before I board my plane, and then a relaxing flight home. I had also better make sure my car and driver James is at the other end because there is no way I will be managing all this luggage!

he Canadian Rockies are the easternmost part of the Canadian Cordillera, the collective name for the mountains of Western Canada. They form part of the American Cordillera, an essentially continuous sequence of mountain ranges that runs all the way from Alaska to the very tip of South America. The Cordillera, in turn, is the eastern part of the Pacific Ring of Fire that runs all the way around the Pacific Ocean.

The Canadian Rockies are bounded on the east by the Canadian Prairies, on the west by the Rocky Mountain Trench, and on the north by the Liard River. Contrary to popular misconception, the Rockies do not extend north into Yukon or Alaska, or west into central British Columbia. North of the Liard River, the Mackenzie Mountains, which are a distinct mountain range, form a portion of the border between the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. The mountain ranges to the west of the Rocky Mountain Trench in southern British Columbia are called the Columbia Mountains, and are not considered to be part of the Rockies by Canadian geologists.

I'm sittin' in the railway station
Got a ticket to my destination
On a tour of one-night stands
My suitcase and guitar in hand
And every stop is neatly planned
For a poet and a one-man band
Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home where my thought's escapin'
Home where my music's playin'
Home where my love lies waitin'
Silently for me
Every day's an endless stream
Of cigarettes and magazines
And each town looks the same to me
The movies and the factories
And every stranger's face I see
Reminds me that I long to be
Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Tonight I'll sing my songs again
I'll play the game and pretend
But all my words come back to me
In shades of mediocrity
Like emptiness in harmony
I need someone to comfort me
Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound

The park benches were off-limit, the trails weren't. People/Families thronged to enjoy the warm fall evening amidst the pandemic maintaining distance.

To follow up on yesterdays photos of a matched YN2 pair that you cant do any more... later the same morning we see CSX 4523 and 7575 leading a loaded coal train north for the Toledo Docks rolling through Deshler.
This morning was filled with thick mist and fog. The 22mph winds whipping thru the Carquinez Straights were pulling my cap off my head. I was sure the wind load on my gear would produce soft images. I just took a few images and packed
it up. I drove home wishing I’d slept in.
I reluctantly downloaded the images from my memory card and to my surprise I had a keeper. I like the orange glow and I hope you do to.

The Good Track Road made its third home rail appearance this year hauling Toronto-bound manifest 396. The morning light, 70 degree weather, and 35 MPH speed made for an ideal Sunday morning cruise as we followed the train up to Durand.

I had rather forgotten about this image, until I was part way through reading Sir Ernest Shackleton's book "South" yesterday. The tale of his journey across the Weddell Sea in the small rowing boat, brought back this scene to mind. Although to be fair this would be paradise for him and his men with the tropical, calm scene here compared to the wild conditions they endured in Antartica.
