The UP 669, a great looking ex-MP GP38-2 works the Wagner/NFI Industries building in Kansas City's West Bottoms. From where I'm at on the James St. overpass, I'm standing in Kansas, while the engine is all the way in Missouri, as the state line cuts right between us.

Your not a true flickrite if you don't have a photo of a duck/goose with its bottom up. :)

The three amigos seem very much in tune with each other this time. So fascinating to sit back and enjoy the little things in nature. if you have a moment, please see the rest of their adventures on my stream.

This was taken after a thunderstorm had passed over Camano Island. The tide was one of the highest I have ever seen there. A normal high tide will just make it to the bulk head but this one was nearly half way up. You may notice a lot of debris in the bottom right and that is because of all the stuff this tide collected. Thankfully there was wind or waves.

Flat-bottomed depression that is periodically covered by water. Playas occur in interior desert basins and adjacent to coasts in arid and semiarid regions. The water that periodically covers the playa slowly filters into the groundwater system or evaporates into the atmosphere, causing the deposition of salt, sand, and mud along the bottom and around the edges of the depression.

the empties have been pulled and set out on the main. it's time to spot the loads now. The locomotive is almost certainly on the east end of any move through here as both grupo modelo and harinas elizando are stub ended switches facing west. There would be a magical shot of a westbound around this corner. The old Corona sign still towers over the cerveceria making for a wonderful backdrop and a reminder of the past.

This 2 tier cake was a bit of a rush job......

infact, this is a cake I made for our 8th Wedding Anniversary.

With the cakes I make for clients there is always planning involved,

but when it comes to making one for ourselves

it's usually a just few cupcakes as I have left it too late

or a very small cake.

This time I wanted a two tier and quickly made the vanilla sponges.

I mixed up this gorgeous pale duck egg blue coloured sugarpaste

(which the colour doesn't look true in this photo)

which I adore!!!

I hadn't a clue how to decorate it so I piped some royal icing pearls

at the base of each tier and placed an Ivory sugar bloom ontop......

I still wasn't happy with it, so I went and had a good

sort through my sugarcraft kit/tools drawers

and pulled out the dragonfly mould

..............perfect!

So I have a cake I would like,

I didn't want to make one in the style my husband would want

as it would probably have footballs all over it!!! lol!

..........

My Husband named this cake "Nicola" as

it's for our anniversary he thought it made sense!

.....

Cake size is

Top tier 5"

Bottom tier 8"

I was surprised at how the rocks reflected rocks under the water with the 850nm filter.

SILVER LAKE - Along the June Lake Loop off Hwy 395 in the Eastern Sierras

Warehouse in west bottoms of Kansas City. I took the photo pointed up and then did a massive perspective correction to make it look level. In doing so, the stairs look a odd in sense that you can see more of the underside than if one were standing straight across.

Anyhow, I still liked it with all of the windows, textures, worn out lettering, etc.

This is definitely the best picture I've ever taken of myself.

Pine tree forests make me really happy.

Weather is awful today (10/01/23). Really grim, so the only option is to look at the archives!

Blue Tit sitting in the Oak tree at the bottom of the garden. The Oak is just coming into leaf and once there is a full canopy we will only hear the 'hidden treasures' as they search for insects.

We can also see the Sparrow Hawk who has discovered that this is a great snack waggon of a garden. Over the last 10 days we've found a total of 4 piles of feathers...just feathers, nothing else. I'm just hoping that Mr & Mrs Blackbird will stay safe as they're now feeding their young, home is in the Laurel bush.

Keep you posted! :))
