Terrific Thursday to you.
And to Andy tonight and tomorrow night in his role as the Mad Hatter in the schools production of Alice in Wonderland.
I learned something about this spider the day I found it in the yard. There were several on this particular plant and I could tell as the leaves were curled up in a particular way. What these Orb Weavers were doing was building a web using the edges of the curled up leaves. Then they would sit underneath the web waiting for an insect to set down on the leaf. Then, boom, it would be over.
Taken 11 August 2020 in my yard near Wasilla, Alaska.
This squirrel was sunning his backside on a maple tree branch. It was about 30 feet up the tree.
Taken through the window of the house.

Peacocks are known for their beautiful array of color however the flip side often goes unappreciated.

HAPPY BENCH MONDAY, EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!
Here's something I haven't seen before. A boulder is visible through a hole in the ice on Bear Lake. My guess is there is a current that deflects off the rock just enough to delay freezing, while calmer water nearby has frozen in our recent cold snap. Most of the ice surface is covered by frost crystals which have been washed away by flowing water in the clear spots. This is a pretty good illustration of how thick ice can have dangerous thin spots on Bear Lake.
Going back here recently and taking a look a photos I have taken but not processed yet. This was from a photo walk at Tohono Chul Park with Pearl, Bill, & Damian last month. This was taken at the very end of the walk as we were all packing up to leave...it's a bee digging his way into a flower...I love the heavy backlight!
More views. Bottom left shows the mine laying apparatus. Top right is my initial sketch for the Catfish; very different obviously but it just evolved naturally with what was easy to shape. Retaining the whiskers at the front was a must though.
There's some drop tanks and a missile on here that ain't Lego; part of some interesting military clone brand stuff I found a little while ago.

B65 was on transfer from Goulburn to Cootamundra for eventual transfer to Seymour, conversion to broad gauge and onto Bendigo for long term storage. B65 had been stored at Goulburn since September 2017.

The Boatzer one of the glass bottomed boats in Looe. As you can see this one is not going anywhere! By now I would imagine they will be getting securely moored up for the Winter.
