Our first day, getting ready to leave Santa Cruz for the field. Various field supplies are being loaded on top of our 4x4 by Fanol, and Moisés Mendoza (a Bolivian botanist) and I are there to help.
This was an exercise in my Master Gardening class: build weird creatures out of edible items, then name the parts of the plants. This was an activity designed for children.
I made a big fat fly.
