JetBlue and the new Dallas on TNT teamed up to throw a tweetup in Boston. Sweet Cheeks Q brought out some new takes on classic Texas fare and a great time was had by all, particularly when stars of the show Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo stopped by to meet their fans!
You can now fly JetBlue between Boston and Dallas / Fort Worth three times daily. and catch the premiere of new show Dallas on TNT June 13, 2012!
I'm sure this park has a name, and I'm sure that tower has a name, but I don't know what they are. All I know is, it was freaking humid in Boston yesterday, and people were running through this fountain at about 10 p.m. last night trying to refresh themselves. They were fun to watch. :)
And I figured here's a good place to put this:
Things I don't like about Boston:
- humidity
- insanely aggressive drivers
- the fact that the ONE bookstore I was looking forward to going to because the few American authors I like were published from there (and also Nathaniel Hawthorne) is now a jewelry store. What. The. Fuck.
Things I DO like about Boston:
- lots of old interesting stuff
- lots of new interesting stuff
- good food
- nice people
- good beer
- the fact that they take the r's off of some words and add them onto other words that end with an a. :)

United in support...
From Hurricane Sandy to Sandy Hook, from the Boston bombings to Philadelphia's building collapse this past June, this has been the year of the first responder.
We invite you to stand with American communities as the World Affairs Council presents its 2013 Atlas Award in recognition of, and gratitude to, the men and women who so bravely respond when disaster strikes. The Council invites these heroes to be guests at this special event as we pay tribute to those who serve our communities by being the first on the scene in critical situations.
And acknowledging sacrifice...
This unique event will acknowledge, in a meaningful way, the sacrifices made by first responders. To this end, your generosity will be reflected in a gift to the Newtown Lions Club Foundation -- Sandy Hook Elementary Fund and the Philadelphia Hero Thrill Show.
Governor of Connecticut Dannel P. Malloy accepted the 2013 Atlas Award on behalf of our nation's first responders.
The Council thanks its sponsors for this event:
AMETEK, Inc., CDI Corporation, PECO, Progressive Business Publications, The Satell Center for Executive Education, UGI Corporation, Aqua, and technology partner Comcast/NBC10.
This event was part of Global Philly 2013(tm)

The Public Garden, established in 1837, is the first public botanical garden in the United States. Today, with its plant material chosen for ornamental excellence as well as its botanical diversity, it forms a green and flowering oasis in the heart of a great metropolis. No visit to Boston would be complete without a stroll in the Garden which is maintained by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with the Friends of the Public Garden.
The band went on a field trip today to Vermont! We took three buses for three hours to this tiny farm in the middle of nowhere. I still don't know where we were, and nobody I asked knew either, but I think we were near some "Snowy Mountain." The bus trip was a bit long, and they played catch-phrase for about an hour, among other things. As soon as we got there we took a hayride and saw pretty trees and leaves and farm stuff. Then we got back and ate dinner on the farm, and had this huge fire. Oh, and we fed animals too and wandered around. We roasted marshmallows on pitchforks, and the smores were good but mine was a little under-cooked.
The bus ride home was pretty long too, and I slept on and off most of the way. I couldn't get comfortable, so it was a troubled sleep at best. They were playing the radio full blast too, so every once and a while I would sing to songs I knew, then go back to sleep until the next one.
We got back to Boston College at about 12:30. After that some of the front people (me, vince, chris, chrissy, mary, steph, lauren, and jess) decided to go to IHOP. So we took two cars and drove to the one right above the Mass Pike. It was totally full at 1:00 in the morning, and we all sat around and ate pancakes and talked until 2:30. After that steph drove me back to Newton because the buses stop running at 2:00. Now it's 3:30, and there's this strange girl in my room that I want to leave because I'm going to go to bed. I have tons of work to do tomorrow, because I've done just about nothing to do with work this whole weekend. So that's going to be my day tomorrow, but I've had a great Friday and Saturday so far!
