The Old State House in Boston, built in 1713, is a historic building that served as the seat of the Massachusetts General Court and the center of colonial Boston before it became a museum celebrating revolutionary history. Located on the Freedom Trail, it's known as the site where the Declaration of Independence was first read to Bostonians from its balcony and where British symbols were burned in 1776. Today, it is a museum and a key landmark for understanding Boston's revolutionary past.
2O16, the 1315 Skegness - Nottingham crosses the River Witham at Boston, just fitting in between some rushing clouds on this windy day. The Grand Sluice, just behind the railway bridge, was constructed in the late 18th century and controlled tidal flow into the River Witham, allowing large areas of marsh to be reclaimed and the upper waterway managed as a river rather than a wide estuary. The Stump, the massive church tower, was built in an earlier stage of Boston's prosperity, the 16th century. Boston Docks are nearer the sea, some cranes are visible in the background. The railway is a relatively recent arrival, a wooden bridge in the 1840s replaced by the current iron structure in the 1880s.

I moved to Boston!
I thought I would post road trip photos first, but as it turns out there are a lot to sort out and my internet access is still pretty iffy. So instead, here's my first photo of the Boston skyline seen from the Tufts Tisch Library roof. I'll be very busy the first couple months so don't expect much photography at first (I'll probably continue posting the rest of my leftover chicago and road trip photos instead), but after that I hope to do some exploring.
This photograph was taken on a beach near the Boston Harbor. The view is looking West, into the city of Boston. Checkout the city lights reflecting in the Boston Harbor.
Boston's Brownstones are really growing on me.

Dock Square: An Unexpected Quiet Moment in Boston
Dock Square in Boston, Massachusetts, captivated me during my visit. It became my launchpad for exploring the city's vibrant neighbourhoods. I was drawn to the idea of returning under the cloak of twilight. That's when the city lights cast their magical glow. Contrary to my expectations, capturing this moment didn't require a pre-dawn wake-up call. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the square slipped into a quiet lull. I suspect the Celtics game had Boston's residents glued to their TV screens.
