IHTSW!? Get Out and Shoot

I attended a Poverty Bootcamp put on by Food for the Hungry to learn about poverty, assumptions, the vulnerable and what is the best way to address these things, while maintaining the dignity of everyone involved. It was a bit like drinking from a firehose and it sure challenged some of the ideas I came in with. To be honest, I have not been an informed citizen when it comes to social justice and issues around it. I felt so small in an issue so large: what can I do that could possibly help? This day and a half of sessions has opened my eyes and helped me to see hope where I did not see it before. Poverty comes in many forms: it's not just about those who have no material items. You can experience poverty emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. I learned that above all, everyone has their own story and there is no blanket solution - but... there are solutions!!

Nos passados dias 6 e 7 de dezembro o ISCTE recebeu mais uma edição do Pitch Bootcamp. O Pitch Bootcamp é um programa de dois dias que coloca algumas das mais competitivas empresas em Portugal em contacto com universitários e recém-diplomados para fazer acontecer futuro. A missão do Pitch Bootcamp é o desenvolvimento de competências de trabalho em jovens e potenciar a transferência de valor humano entre Academias e Empresas.

Get Your Priorities Straight-July 2013

This class was about learning how to use color and the amount of each color to use. When using 3 colors, the major color should be about 60% of the space, the minor color about 30% of the space, and the accent color about 10% of the space.

I used the navy, red, khaki color combination, with the navy being the major color, the red the minor color, and the khaki the accent color.

I used OWH Sketch #94 for the layout, Cuttlebug's Oriental Weave embossing folder, and daisy punches by Marvy Uchida
