US textbooks perhaps in rather too plentiful supply.

While we were visiting, the Kenyan government were reqriting the constitution in a hope to reduce corruption and improve rights. Excerpts from the constitution were printed every day in the papers. Once a month, the papers are delivered in a huge batch to Nguruman as it is so rural so when they arrive they are in a lot of demand.

Bookcrossing release: The Bridges of Madison County - Robert James Waller

 

Released as part of the BookAid Release event in 2005, when bookcrossers released at least 10 books in each local authority area in the UK.

 

Journalled and re-released in Carnoustie, then released and found in Dundee.

The mini-library serves 300 students but has very few books. We hope to provide support in the future.

Anne from Kidslibs chats to Zac. Zac works for Sara Lee who support the Mathare North LIbrary but he is also from this village and realised what a huge difference the library could make to his community.

The library is made up of three small rooms in this building. The children's library is about 3m x 5m and the study room and adult library around 3m x 3m. Small spaces but full of life.
