Steve and Charles are the librarians who were trained by Kidslibs to run Mathare North Community LIbrary. Here they are being interviewed by ERA Films in the area of Mathare North which was burnt down during post election violence in 2008. 300 dwellings were destroyed and many lives lost.
The Viva Network runs several informal schools for street children in Zimbabwe, and include regular storytelling telling and reading sessions.
The great thing about this library is how relaxed the children are there. It's not quiet and stuffy!
This is the children's library. It is not your traditional library! It is full of life and energy. There are lots of people ocming and going and enjoying the books.
