Steve and Charles are the librarians who were trained by Kidslibs to run Mathare North Community LIbrary. Here they are being interviewed by ERA Films in the area of Mathare North which was burnt down during post election violence in 2008. 300 dwellings were destroyed and many lives lost.

The Viva Network runs several informal schools for street children in Zimbabwe, and include regular storytelling telling and reading sessions.

The donkeys visit every 3 weeks providing an aditional choice of books to those kept at the school.

The great thing about this library is how relaxed the children are there. It's not quiet and stuffy!

Bookcrossing release: Loving April - Melvin Burgess

 

Released as part of the BookAid Release event in April 2005, when bookcrossers released at least 10 books in each local authority area in the UK.
