Is Putin dead? Volodymyr Zelensky questions whether Russian president is still alive
Zelensky said: ‘Right now I don’t understand who to talk to. I am not sure whether the president of Russia is still alive.
‘I don’t understand that he’s still alive or that it is him particularly making decisions.
There is no verifiable evidence that Putin is seriously ill, and still less so that he has died.
But there has been much speculation that a body double may have been used for some appearances.
Experts believe Kremlin cronies would be keen to cover up his death in an attempt to cling on to power.
In May, Metro.co.uk reported that Putin’s health has allegedly been deteriorating for the past five years and that he had two surgeries in two weeks.
But officials stress that he is in good health despite persistent suggestions to the contrary.

Henry Kissinger warns war between US and China would be a ‘threat to human survival’
Kissinger warned that it is vital to avoid an escalation of direct conflict between Russia and the West due to the former feeling that the war had become 'against Russia itself.'
He believes that the US and China need to take steps to improve their relationship and consider the risks of conflict between two of the world's biggest economies that possess nuclear weapons and are working on artificial intelligence capabilities. He said:
Each side needs to consider for itself how the threat to human survival of the destructiveness of weapons, coupled with making them almost conscious in their application, can be dealt with.
Thus, he believes negotiation is central to solving the conflict in Ukraine:
So this is why I believe in dialogue with Russia while the war continues, an end of fighting when the prewar line is reached, and a continuing process of discussion by Europe, America and at that point Russia ... while the conditions of sanctions and other pressures will be maintained until a final settlement is reached.
I believe this is the way to prevent the war from escalating.

More Indians Blame US, NATO Than Vladimir Putin For War In Ukraine: Survey
More Indians blame the U.S. and NATO more than Vladimir Putin for his raging war in Ukraine that has killed thousands of civilians and military personnel, according to a survey.
What Happened: While a plurality of Indians blames Russia for the war in Ukraine, a new survey revealed that the combined share who blames the U.S. and N.A.T.O. is larger.
Some 38% of the 1,000 Indian respondents said Russia is to blame for the war in Ukraine, 26% blamed the United States and 18% blamed N.A.T.O., according to the survey by Morning Consult, a US-based global business intelligence company.
"While the world's two largest democracies would seem to make for natural partners, especially given their mutual mistrust of China, Indians have strategic reasons to be wary of the world's Western superpower," said Sonnet Frisbie and Scott Moskowitz, who oversaw the survey.
"As tensions between Washington and Beijing increase, the Indian public may be worried about getting caught in the middle of a U.S.-China conflict that destabilizes regional security, putting India at risk," they added.
The survey also found that Indians also view the U.S. as the biggest military threat after China. About 43% of the respondents perceived Beijing, with whom New Delhi has an ongoing border dispute, as the greatest threat— followed by 22% of respondents voting for the U.S. as the second-most significant security threat.
India has maintained a neutral stand on the Russia-Ukraine war, despite pressure from its Quad peers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has often pushed Putin to return to diplomacy, while India continued to snap Russian oil at a discount ignoring the West's call for sanctions.

University: Student stabbed on bus because she is Asian
BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (AP) — A 56-year-old woman has been charged after an 18-year-old Indiana University student repeatedly was stabbed in the head on a public bus in an attack the school says was because the victim is Asian.
The victim told investigators she was standing and waiting for the exit doors to open on a Bloomington Transit bus Wednesday afternoon when another passenger began striking her in the head, Bloomington police said in a release.
Bus surveillance footage showed no interaction between the two women prior to the attack.
A witness who also was riding the bus followed the woman's attacker and contacted police, who later arrested Billie R. Davis of Bloomington. Davis has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery, according to court records.
The victim was treated at a hospital for multiple stab wounds. Her name was not released.
Citing court records, WRTV-TV reports that Davis told police she stabbed the woman multiple times in the head with a folding knife, because it “would be one less person to blow up our country.”
Records did not list an attorney representing Davis.
“This week, Bloomington was sadly reminded that anti-Asian hate is real and can have painful impacts on individuals and our community,” Indiana University Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs James Wimbush said in a statement. “No one should face harassment or violence due to their background, ethnicity or heritage. Instead, the Bloomington and IU communities are stronger because of the vast diversity of identities and perspectives that make up our campus and community culture.”
Bloomington is in southern Indiana. Mayor John Hamilton called behavior like the bus attack “not acceptable” and said it will be “dealt with accordingly.”
“We know when a racially motivated incident like this resonates throughout the community, it can leave us feeling less safe,” Hamilton said in a statement Saturday. “We stand with the Asian community and all who feel threatened by this event.”
In recent years, Asian Americans have increasingly been the target of racially motivated harassment and assaults, especially after the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Scenes from the Blizzard of January 2022:
For Cape Cod, it rained almost all night long. Then, just before dawn, it began to snow. For the first part of the day we got heavy wet snow that stuck to everything. By nightfall, as the temperatures dropped and the wind picked up, the snow had become light and fluffy. I watched the pressure drop over 30 mb over a 24 hour period, and with that, the intense wind delivered our predicted power outages. We lost power on Saturday night around 6 pm and got it back on Sunday night around 11pm. In our neighborhood, the storm snow total was about 16 inches.

New York City was hit by Winter Storm Gail, the first big snowstorm of the season on December 16, 2020 bringing a hodge-podge wintry conditions. A total of 10 inches of snow and sleet was reported overnight in New York City. The city’s emergency management service advised New Yorkers to be aware of slippery conditions, also issued a travel advisory for Thursday particularly during the evening commute. Damage in our neighborhood from the "bomb cyclone" that ravaged most of the Pacific Northwest over night on 19-20 November 2024. These cell pics are mostly from the morning of the 20th, with a few from the 21st. The most extensive local damage shown here was at our nearby park, Matthews Beach, on Lake Washington. The crushed pickup truck photos were from a nearby street.
Over 600,000 people in the Seattle area were without power for days, and many home and vehicles were moderately to severely damaged. Fortunately, our home and vehicles were not damaged, though our entire property was liters with broken branches and other debris.

The morning after the Blizzard of January 2022:
There was a beautiful sunrise and clear skies to follow, making it a nice day for shooting. Temps were still in the teens and the wind was whipping. The power would remain out until just about 1:00 pm today, coming back just in time because the inside house temperature was barley holding above 40 degrees F.
