There have been some trying times of late and on the whole I would have to say I'm proud in some regards as to how little we've bought into the narrative(s) of doom.
Trying times are on the way so continuing to be patient is good, as is understanding what is occurring.

Clearly, European robins are not afraid of humans, and this one was a blatant example of that, as it landed and stood a mere two or three meters away from me for quite a while.

And not as bee-proof as they look! On the contrary, offering both nectar and pollen, lupins are a pollinator magnet.
Sometimes as a photographer I like to intensify the sky image and reflections on the canal to create a guided imagery to reference and remind how lovely it appears from the canoe.
When a Great Tit comes up close and personal to see what food I have. Feeding my birds on New Years Eve, they have become braver and braver and very bold. I did surround my camera with bird seed and sat and waited very patiently ~ Debbie KissThePixel2020
I was delighted to spot this jumper in the wildflowers recently, but he led me on a merry chase, finally ducking around this dead leaf. When I picked it up, he came with it, clinging to the back side, face buried as if playing ostrich. Finally he looked up, and I happened to snap just then, and he happened to be in focus - right before he jumped off and went running again. Split-second focus like that happens for me about once in 200 times.

A view of the Golden Canyon badlands taken from the west side of the Manly Beacon. The usually subtle colors are a bit bolder due to the moisture left by a rainstorm on the previous day.
"Common Grackles are resourceful foragers. They sometimes follow plows to catch invertebrates and mice, wade into water to catch small fish, pick leeches off the legs of turtles, steal worms from American Robins, raid nests, and kill and eat adult birds."

The bold one. A young Pileated Woodpecker spends most of its time filling up the opening to its nesting cavity. Until an adult shows up to feed the others inside. The bold one gets quickly stuffed back into nest by the adult.
Hibiscus shrubs in my Gold Coast garden are prolific but beset by numerous insect pests. It can be difficult to get flowers not spoiled by these conditions. With some minor edits this one made it through.
