A bipartite, heavily stratified rock stands out to the rough sea striking with violence the rugged coastline of La Magdalena in the afternoon of a windy summer day, as though emerging from the water to make a statement. In the distance, the lighthouse in the island of Mouro signals the only entrance to the Port of Santander. Finally, two vessels anchored in the Bay of the Sardinero adorn the horizon line to the left of the frame and, in doing so, bring the scene back to reality.
I have always said that Santander is a place where I would love to relocate for my retirement. Santander is a charming medium-size town in Northern Spain where life seems to occur at an easy and certainly enjoyable pace. The type of pace that best withstands the test of time.
WANNABE WARMER WEDNESDAY #7
Hard to believe that winter is half over already. It sure has been one to remember. Snowier than most and those incredible deep freeze days :( Looking at the calendar I can see we're going to close the month without any January thaw. That's always a nice respite during the short cold days of winter.
I'm still keeping comments closed because it's not fair when I can't allot time to visit each and every one of you. I feel so bad. I want you to know that even if I've not had time to spend visiting and commenting I do visit your streams on a regular basis. I find inspiration from you all.
Hugs and much love. Be safe ....
Bandi the Bold is a strong, fearless, and somewhat daring barbarian warrior. A near unstoppable force with his massive war hammer, he enjoys walloping packs of wild monsters and merrily feasting equally. For TOMB.
How bold, finding yourself into colossal bore?
An unnamed spotter challenged an inapt word?
It must be an ant, which never lived impulsively
How daring,
Someone dared correct Andrew Marvell's words?
We found ourselves into massive uncouth hoards…
Handheld using a Lensbaby lens. Close up shot. Really liked the bold colouring of the tulip. Basic adjustments in Lightroom.
Gary and Tu Loan stood there and soaked it in. There was no wind. No other people. Very little talking. And warm.. It was awesome to see them just relax and treasure the moment - looking over from one mountain to another. The colours became bolder after sunset and seemed to last forever. These lovely clouds are lingering above Garibaldi Mountain.

I took some time to snap some of the cool, old signs in-and-around San Jose, Ca. last summer. I like how big a part that theme and motif used to play in stores and restaurants.
Many of these spots were things my friend MattyD90 grew up with and others were pleasant surprises to us both.
Anyway, thanks for having a look!
When bold jumpers are juveniles, their abdomen spots are a bright orange. As they mature they will change to white. I found this cutie on a sandstone column above the spillway at the lake.

Bold Indeed
A pair of GP38-2s rest in the Anchorage Yard both adorned in the 1980s 'Alaska Bold' scheme. The Alaska Railroad's small fleet of 2000 hp geeps was acquired second hand in 1986 early in the state ownership era. ARR 2004 and 2005 were both rebuilt for straight GP38s originally built for the Penn Central as numbers 7773 and 7752 in Sep. and Aug. 1969 respectively and have spent far more of their lives in Alaska than on their original home rails of PC and Conrail.

Bold bright colors make this Leopard Lacewing a popular butterfly at the Cecil B Day Butterfly Center at Callaway Gardens. The butterfly center is close enough to visit a couple times a year.
To my great surprise the butterflies were very active this visit, and there were a few new species I hadn't seen before. So I was able to get lots of pictures and will be posting them over the next few days along with a few other pictures of Callaway.
Dec 2014.
Metra 5 runs on the south leads into Union Station to pick up a dead Metra 4 and drag it up to Western Ave. I ran into this guy on my way to catch a train home, which I missed in order to shoot this. Worth it? Probably.
Whenever I see a Bald Eagle it reminds me that I am proud to be an American. On this Veteran's Day 2015 I want to thank our troops and veterans for making and keeping our country safe and strong. Your sacrifices are not forgotten.
This eagle was perched on a branch in an outside enclosure at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. There was no sign explaining as to why he wouldn't just fly away, that I saw. I assume he is injured, but perhaps he is just content to stay where he is well fed.
`O Tiger-lily,' said Alice, addressing herself to one that was waving gracefully about in the wind, `I wish you could talk!'
`We can talk,' said the Tiger-lily: `when there's anybody worth talking to."
Alice was so astonished that she could not speak for a minute: it quite seemed to take her breath away. At length, as the Tiger-lily only went on waving about, she spoke again, in a timid voice -- almost in a whisper. `And can all the flowers talk?'
`As well as you can,' said the Tiger-lily. `And a great deal louder.'
