The Boeing Collection
From a collection of some 500 Boeing slides that I've had scanned from my archives. Hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age.
Another aircraft which was on a long-term lease to British Airways in the late 1970s was this Boeing 737-222, which originally retained the full livery of Transavia Holland [see comments below]. By the time I captured the aircraft here, it had been repainted into full BA livery, albeit with a random white nose cone. The rudder looks freshly painted and may have been swopped from a different aircraft?
PH-TVH c/n 19955 - Boeing 737-222 was delivered new to United Airlines as N9074U in Oct 1969, but was sold to Transavia Holland in Mar 1975 as PH-TVH. The aircraft was one of around half a dozen bought in the mid 1970s to replace their fleet of Caravelles. During the 70s, 80s and into the 90s the aircraft spent a lot of the time leased out to other airlines, including British Airways, as seen here. Final lease was to Challenge International Airlines in the USA in 1984. The aircraft then passed to Aero Continente of Peru as OB-1755, re-registered HI-764CA in 2002. Final identity was OB-1783 with Nuevo Continente. Fate unknown.
Taken with a Soviet made Zenith E camera and 300mm lens. From an original slide, scanned and unrestored.

Boeing B-29 Superfortress 44-61669 at the Barstow-Daggett Airport in June 1981. This aircraft is now on display at the March Field Museum, California. Delivered to the USAAF on 5 May 1945 at the Boeing facility in Renton, Washington. It was assigned to the 20th Air Force, 73rd Bomb Wing, 500th Bomb Group, 833rd Bomb Squadron flying combat missions out of Saipan. It carried the name “Flagship 500″ and had a “Z-49″ on its tail at the end of WWII. Its last USAF assignment was in 1956 with the 581st Air Resupply Group at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa. It was transferred as a TB-29A trainer to the US Navy on 18 March 1956. The aircraft was recovered from the Naval Test Center at China Lake, restored by a private organization, and flown from Daggett Field, Barstow, to March AFB.

Dot spotting over the last two days of relatively clear skies yielded some Boeing heavies:
Sunday Morning saw Kallita Air's Boeing 747-4B5(F) N705CK as CMB506 - here trailing nicely towards Dover on her way from JFK to Liege at 36,000 feet
Sunday afternoon and one of three Italian Air Force assets heading home over the UK: Boeing KC-767A MM62226 heading towards Seaford on her way from Keflavik at 38,000 feet.
At the same time she was overhauling one of their C-130J-30 Hercules down below at 27,000 feet plus a P-72A MPA (ATR72) which went by unseen further to the West
Then Monday morning - tracking North East from overhead The Channel Islands and crossing the South Coast towards Clacton and the European mainland was Royal Australian Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-209 as 'ASY774' leaving a huge contrail at 39,000 feet

Sin duda mi librea favorita para un avión comercial era esta, la de American Airlines.
