It still strikes me how unnaturally tall and think the mannequins are compared to real human proportions and how this could negatively impact an individuals body image. It is sickening that much of the fashion industry still considers that 'clothes hang better' on tall and skinny models. A study found that a majority of fashion models had a BMI of around 17 which yet the average adult BMI for women in the USA is around 26. The clothes are designed to fit an unrealistic expectation.

Down a long gravel road hiding behind years of weeds up on a small hill sits this unassuming long abandoned house. You could easily pass it by with its boarded up windows thinking it wouldn't be interesting at all and at first glance you would be right!
Another explorer shared this one with me and I decided to stop and take a look. I wasn't expecting much at all from this one and once I walked inside, my suspicions were confirmed. Mostly empty and completely boarded up, there were only a few small pieces of furniture leftover but once I started to look more closely I found a bunch of very interesting things, some of which had been around for almost a century. One thing that I expected to find was not there, so I went outside and had a look around, sure enough I found it and dragged in back into the house.
Here is a quote from the explorer describing the house before my visit.
"In small towns, fire departments do their training in abandoned houses, they put boards with hinges on all the windows, fill the house with smoke, objective is to get the body out in the smokey house"
This explains the blackened walls, the boards on the windows with hinges and of course the training dummy that I had to drag all the way back inside the house! lol
A bit of a Frankenstein of a house that was likely built in the late 1800s or early 1900s, with aluminum siding (in two different colours, pink and blue) now covering up the original wooden facade. An almost symmetrical design if it weren't for those ground floor windows, it also used to have a covered porch at the front that has since rotted and collapsed.
