To preform such a trick, the surface must be waxed in preparation. Many things that skateboarders ride on are waxed. Skate-shops sell specialty wax made for being slippery, not melting in the heat, and for being able to be applied to the surface easily. Many times the amount of wax on an object can make or break the trick the skateboarder is doing.
