This building was very difficult to photograph, and I felt rude taking pictures while people were praying. The main area in the mosque is actually roped off and visitors are allowed to look in but not walk around. Most of the people praying were in this area.

Inside the Blue Mosque.

After 2 days, I managed to set up my new computer and this is just a test drive to see how Photoshop CS4 64 bit runs on this piece of hardware, I still need to use my Mac for some plug ins.

I decided to pick this shot up from my journey to Turkey, I like the colors and composition.

Patron: Ahmed I (Şah Ahmed bin Mehmed Han) 1590-1617, son of Mehmed III (r.1595-1603), builder of the Blue Mosque and Sultan of the Ottoman Empire (r.1603-1617).

 

Architect: Sedefkâr Mehmed Ağa (Sedefkar Mehmed Agha Biçakçiu or Sedefqar Mehmeti of Elbasan) c.1540-1617, a pupil of Mimar Sinan, who based his mosque design on Hagia Sophia (Church of Holy Wisdom).

Me inside the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Cami). It is called "blue" because of the use of Iznik tiles that are mainly blue.
