Shobhit's phone kept on hanging up on me when I tried calling him, so I finally resorted to texting him: I told him I was on the westbound bridge; he texted back that he was on the eastbound bridge. I later found out he was confused and was actually on the westbound bridge -- the one I had originally gone on to look for him! -- so I ended up spending all of the rest of the show looking for him, in vain, on the wrong bridge.
Here you see the view of all three bridges (the center one, with no crowd on it, is the one with express lanes), as seen from the concrete path I walked beneath them all to get over on the other side.

Friday down at Seafair. Took the day off of work so I could catch the show without a lot of people around.
The 2012 Air Magic Valley on July 28 featuring the Blue Angels, Golden Knights, Super Dave, Kent Pietsch in the Jelly Belly plane, Brad Wursten, Matt Younken, Jacquie B, Tim Weber, Dan Buchanan, Dave Erickson and many displays.
It was too quiet. Four planes flew off in formation. Where were the other two? One was coming from behind me at 500 knots. I turned around and saw it just as it was practically right on top of me. Lucky shot! The roar of an F/A-18 flying only 100 feet above you is soul-stirring.

This one-of-a-kind vehicle will be sold at the Gathering of Eagles charity auction Thursday, July 28, during the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) 2011 AirVenture Oshkosh, the world's greatest aviation celebration.
