This image from the 2022 NAS Oceana Air Show struck me as quite beautiful. It’s of the Blue Angels doing what they do best: making wherever they are a lot more interesting. Light from the low sun plays against their trailing smoke as they paint the sky. I do have other images to work on, so, as my wife is prone to tell me, I'll put the planes in the hangar for a while.

Every pilot's dream

I was lucky enough to catch the Blue Angels practicing last year when we were in Pensacola. This was taken from Fort Pickens Park which is a great place to watch them flying over Pensacola and out over the Gulf of Mexico.

While at high speed, two Blue Angels Hornets F-18 coming from opposite directions, prove to be a difficult shot as panning with one airplane, the speed to catch the second one becomes twice as fast, very hard for the "click" moment...

Not much of a shot but a fitting end to a road trip. Waiting for the high speed ferry in Milwaukee across to Muskegon, the Blue Angels were taking practice runs over Lake Michigan for the weekend Air & Water Show.
