SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launched the STP-2 mission at 2:30 am from LC-39A on the Kennedy Space Center. The two side boosters returned to land at LZ-1 & LZ-2 on the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, creating the two side-by-side landing streaks. Had to play hide and seek from the bright lights of the dredge in the shipping channel at Port Canaveral, but the lifeguard tower was up to the challenge.

An on target #SpaceX #Falcon9 launch, and NOT so on target ocean landing, for the first stage booster off the coast of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Launched occurred at 1:16 p.m. EST from #SLC40 with the #CRS16 resupply mission heading to the ISS.

Not the "normal" #SpaceX #Falcon9 booster return to Port Canaveral. After launching the #CRS16 resupply mission to the ISS on December 5th, the B1050 booster suffered a hydraulic pump failure for the grid fins & caused the computer to make a controlled landing in the ocean off the coast of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The black interstage looks severely damaged & corrosion would be a risk for reuse, after soaking in salt water for more than 48 hours.
