I pass so many farms on rural drives and always admire and respect how truly hard the farmers work. Their labor is our bounty, wonderful fruits and vegetables. They work from sun up to sundown and now more than ever are struggling. We have been in a drought for many years.

Autrefois, les radeliers de la Durance transportaient par flottage les grumes de bois nécessaires à la construction des maisons des cités provençales et à la construction navale de la Marine Royale notamment pour les chantiers de Toulon et de Marseille. Il leur fallait plusieurs jours pour rallier la Provence depuis les Hautes-Alpes, debouts sur les radeaux, sans autre protection que leur courage et leur détermination. C'étaient souvent des paysans qui trouvaient dans cette activité un complément de revenu.
Aujourd'hui, les radeliers qui veulent perpétuer la mémoire de cette activité disparue depuis plus d'un siècle, passent plusieurs mois pour reconstruire des radeaux selon les techniques de l'époque. Cette année a eu lieu la 22ème reconstitution historique entre l'Argentière la Bessée et Embrun. Mais le niveau de l'eau de la Durance est très bas, à cause de la sècheresse. Hélas, le radeau de tête a heurté des rochers et s'est mis en travers de la rivière au niveau d'Embrun, empêchant la poursuite de l'événement. Pas de blessé, heureusement ! Cet incident rappelle combien cette pratique du flottage du bois sur la Durance était périlleuse.

Formerly, the rafters of the Durance transported by floating the logs necessary for the construction of the houses of the Provençal cities and the naval construction of the Royal Navy in particular for the sites of Toulon and Marseille. It took them several days to reach Provence from the Hautes-Alpes, standing on the rafts, with no other protection than their determination. They were often peasants who found in this activity a supplement of income. Today, the rafters who want to perpetuate the memory of this activity, which disappeared for more than a century, spend several months rebuilding rafts using the techniques of the time.
Today, March 13, is the birthday of our best friend Yuri, a true patriot of Ukraine, courageous and brave man who has been defending our country since the first days of the war.
His 11-year-old son can’t understand why such a terrible aggression against Ukraine happened, he’s scared but truly believes that his father and the Ukrainian army will free our country from the enemy and return home with the victory.
Dear Yuri, we love you, we are thinking of you, we are proud of you, we believe in you, all our prayers are for you. Stay strong and please stay safe! God bless you and all your brothers in arms. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
I’d been meaning to pay a visit to the beach at West Wittering in Sussex for some time. I’ve seen lots of beautiful images of subtle patterns in the sand and gentle pastel colours in those big skies. The weather had other ideas for my visit though and it was proper blowy. As one door closes, another one opens. Photography was a little tricky and I also had to contend with sand storms and bright sunlight (EM121326)

NESTS IN HOLES AND CAVITIES, seen at the chalk undercliffs at Ramsgate, Kent, A sizeable flock of them, have taken up residence, going in and out small gaps in the cliff face. Love to see them, and the way they seem to swagger when they walk, it has essentially dark plumage with a green and violet iridescence discernible in good light.

Yep it's that time again... Even though most of us are not involved in the actual farming but we enjoy the hard work of the folks that make it happen for us. God bless the people behind this hard work :) Our church annually celebrates harvest and this Sunday we will be doing that by thanking God for all these wonderful gifts. This shot is basically unaltered just the way it came out of the camera except some light Orton effect and reverse vignette

The UK's most common bird, they are in serious decline, like almost every other species. I do not think I will ever see so many like this again. These birds were captured in Cliftonville, Margate, Kent.

l didn't know it at the time...but the couple you can see ahead took half an hour to get to were l was standing through the ankle deep mud...Generally it would take 3 minutes to get to me from where they were...when they arrived l was astounded to see they were both around 85 years old if a day, and were holding each other hands...Bless...we chatted for a while and they went on their merry way through the woods which was in an even muddier state than from whence they'd come, l gave them a 10 minute start and l followed them just incase one of them took a flyer and they needed help. Bless

This pic was taken in Queensland a few weeks ago in the mountains, as we were driving to the village of Nimbin ...
We were so blessed that day .... we crossed a few creeks on the road, but later found out that they had closed them right after .... yep ... blessed...

Just a note my friends.... an oopsy on my part... Nimbin is is NSW not Queensland...but it was on our voyage and close to the border .... but a note .... For all you 50 + group ...please google Nimbin if you have a chance and want a laugh ..... My God !!! it's a flash back to the 70's ... where " Pot " still rules and all the shops are painted in hippiesque designs ... and invites to the annual Mardi-grass festival are given out ..... lol.... have fun...xox
