The extremely talented artist Ray Lonsdale created Blank Canvas, which was commissioned as part of the three and a half million pound eco village by Gentoo at South Bank. The sculpture has been made from cor-ten steel which will weather to a "rusty" finish, which can already be seen on the surface

I am so very excited about my recent purchase! I finally bought the largest canvas that the art supply store carries. It is a 48x60 inch gallery wrap canvas- let's just say it is not cheap! I had a coupon for 40% off of the original price! A steal, I tell ya!

I will be staring at this thing for a few more days, now, anticipating my plan for it.

...we all love the idea of a blank canvas, prepared and ready for our eyes and hands to draw and paint and create upon the surface...this was created in artrage on the ipad for a new interesting effect...

365 2009 Day 365: So 2009 is at an end, and I feel that in many respects 2009 should be consigned to Room 101. However, it often takes difficult times to urge us to re-evaluate where we are, and there have been many moments throughout this year that have caused me to do just that.

And I approach 2010 (some would say a new decade) with an intent to start drawing life afresh on a blank canvas, based on ideas and goals that have surfaced this year.

Here I am contemplating it ...

I am not one for setting goals very precisely. I much prefer to head in a general direction towards the horizon over there, and then to make periodic assessments of where I am. That's because I like to encounter surprises along the way, and to be open to be influenced by them.

At this point in time I feel I should change course, maybe quite dramatically. Who knows where it will lead. But a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.

Anyway, among the very best things in 2009 has been making a genuine reacquaintance with the mountains, and meeting many wonderful new friends. And I'd like to end this 365 round with a huge thanks to all of you for your support and friendship. It really does mean a lot.

Happy New Year
