Hee hee! It's one of my little joys in life. When I see ants guarding aphids I like to annoy them just a bit. I imagine this is what it feels like to be Godzilla.

These little critters, otherwise known as scavenging isopods, hang out in the sand at the high-tide line, near boulders. They surface when the water arrives and eat all the carrion they can find. They do not know the difference between ankles and carrion. Their bites hurt a lot; and can break thin skin (like babies').
