タルボサウルスにサイカニアが噛まれそうー。

逃げてー。

This was taken in my car after getting a manicure. I tend to bite my nails when I am anxious or bored, so I had to get fake ones so I would break the habit. I documented my hand displaying not only the new nails but my accessories as well. I spend a lot of time driving back and forth form campus to home, which is why I documented myself in a car. I have always tried to break my habits of biting nails and getting anxious, but especially as I move forward in school toward having a "real job" and making it on my own, it gets harder and harder to do.

The cheetah, also known as the hunting leopard is a big cat that occurs mainly in eastern and southern Africa and a few parts of Iran. The cheetah is characterised by a slender body, deep chest, spotted coat, a small rounded head, black tear-like streaks on the face, long thin legs and a long spotted tail. Its lightly built, slender form is in sharp contrast with the robust build of the other big cats. The cheetah reaches nearly 70 to 90 cm (28 to 35 in) at the shoulder, and weighs 21–72 kg (46–159 lb). Though taller than the leopard, it is notably smaller than the lion. Basically yellowish tan or rufous to greyish white, the coat is uniformly covered with nearly 2,000 solid black spots.

Cheetah are active mainly during the day, with hunting its major activity. Adult males are sociable despite their territoriality, forming groups called "coalitions". Females are not territorial; they may be solitary or live with their offspring in home ranges. Carnivores, cheetah mainly prey upon antelopes and gazelles. They will stalk their prey to within 100–300 metres (330–980 ft), charge towards it and kill it by tripping it during the chase and biting its throat to suffocate it to death. The cheetah's body is specialised for speed; it is the fastest land animal. The speed of a hunting cheetah averages 64 km/h (40 mph) during a sprint; the chase is interspersed with a few short bursts of speed, when the animal can clock 112 km/h (70 mph). Cheetahs are induced ovulators, breeding throughout the year. Gestation is nearly three months long, resulting in a litter of typically three to five cubs (the number can vary from one to eight). Weaning occurs at six months; siblings tend to stay together for some time. Cheetah cubs face higher mortality than most other mammals, especially in the Serengeti region. Cheetahs inhabit a variety of habitats – dry forests, scrub forests and savannahs.

used a lot of ash textures on these.

These guys are hell on earth when they're biting. And these liaisons don't stop them from doing that! I added the euro for scale. Someone told me I wasn't putting up enough nature photos this year...so here we go.

Bei plays with mama Mei.

Everyone's favourite, a Cleg fly, as modelled by my husband (very briefly!).

For anyone that hasn't had the pleasure they have quite a nasty bite, and as with mosquitos, it's only the females that bite.

They will also try and bite through clothes (as this one is doing). She does have beautiful eyes though! ;)

Really strange behaviour. This bee landed, bit the thorn and then hung on by its jaws...

taken from my window - another crepuscular (love that word) shot so low-light and messy

I think this one is a female. There is a male in the comments below. Don't know if they are the same species.

better when viewed large.

I found this snake in my garden a harmless (but big) Garter Snake, he kept biting me - he even tried to swallow my finger.
