Bit of a lazy bus photting session in Newbury for me today (29/03/2021) as I opted to just stand around the town's newish bus station rather than go hunting for different locations etc. It was just nice to be outside in some very pleasant early Spring sunshine for a couple of hours!
Anyway, since my last visit in 2018, the scene has changed somewhat with a new and relocated bus station and a new livery adorning the Newbury & District fleet, part of Reading Buses of course.
Stagecoach turned up with a couple from Basingstoke and one from Andover, Reading Buses with a few from Reading, and a random training bus passed by for good measure!
Well perhaps more like a bit of High end browsing if the truth be known.
I am not usually a high end shopper but sometimes I like to stroll the trendy malls and let people think I have oodles of $$$ to spend. (With my $30:00 dress on)
Besides there are always some clothes and especially shoes and handbags to be had in the ritzy malls that you can't find anywhere else and it is always nice to pretend isn't it?
It is my mission in life to browse through all the clothing possibilities. **Nudge/Wink**
Beautiful deep navy dress from Pilgrim. One of (the many many MANY) dresses and other outfits I've bought over the years with no memory of when or where I got them. It's like finding a lovely magical gift surprise in your wardrobe (or closet).

this is a bit bring and quite cliche, but it's cute, and I needed to upload something to tell you a couple of things.
1. all this time I thought I had never had a photo in explore (because I always check the scout.com thing and it said there were none), but today I checked and it said four of my old one's were in explore!!!! I FREAKED OUT. even though I don't like how explore works, I've always dreamed of being in it. check out which one's are explored here.
2. I got my hair cut today. it's a little shorter than I wanted but I really like it :) (comments)
3. I am deeply saddened by the result of Boston/Miami game 7. HOWEVER I have confidence that OKC will destroy them in the finals so it's all good! :D

This amazing bit of automation is made exclusively for The Coca-Cola Corporation by a division of the Ferrari Corporation of Italy. Yes, THAT Ferrari Corporation. And it costs more than $35,000.
On the front body panel is a screen that allows you to order the Coca-Cola product that you desire. This may not sound like much until you realize that worldwide Coca-Cola has a menu of well over 200 flavors. [This machine is capable of producing just a small number of Coke products as this is limited to the American market.]
So, automation is making deeper inroads into the fast food industry. Now, as workers/unions make more significant demands the response from management will be more and more automation. Further, I fear that day is on the horizon when machines will dispense the beverages, operator-less super machines will cook the food to order, a robot will read your mind and pass out menu assignments to automated kitchen robot workers, and a money managing robot will liaise with your financial institution to get paid for your meal.
“Progress” such as this scenario suggests is well on its way. At some future point in time each fast food franchise will require only one person and that will be the dude needed to clean the toilets.
No, this wasn't a Hollywood shoot, it's a real 425-pound silverback gorilla being wheeled out of surgery. The primate, named Vip, underwent a procedure to fix a sinus infection that spun out of control. The procedure was performed at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA.

I feel a bit naughty, this is the first time I have ever cut or kragle'd LEGO.
I was given only a few hours notice that a LEGO Ed was needed for the top of his Birthday Cake (he turned 50 and is actually very fit despite the digs about using a zimmer frame). Only problem was his male pattern baldness hair! Apart from Grandad & Shakespeare who are yellow, there are no "male pattern baldness" heads. I wish someone custom made the light fleshies with some grey hair options. Anyway, bit of cutting, bit of glue and a zimmer frame, all done whilst on a fast train from London to Cheshire. He is the co-founder of the charity Walking With the Wounded - hence the hoodie. :-)
And yes, it was even a fleshie smilie minifig head - I'm still in shock myself.

A bit of an odd one. These were, in a way, a development of the MB100 van that had been replaced, but seemingly were only sold in Pacific markets, and were made by Ssangyong, who have had quite a long relationship with the parent company of Mercedes. I do wonder how this one ended up in West London though, brought over in its year of manufacture too, perhaps a trial vehicle to see how the market responded or just a fancy personal import? Looked in rather good condition too, there has always been a plethora of weird imports around this way, and this day was no exception, I saw another two oddities later on.

I was caught off guard here on a historic tour of London. Military planes started flying low and it hit me, it was Her Majesty’s birthday (it’s the only time this happens in London). They do this every year to mark her day as the Queen awaits on the world’s most famous balcony at Buckingham Palace. What you can see here are the Red Arrows, the aerobatics display team of the Royal Air Force. Their stunts are unrivalled the world over and are a true privilege to witness. Hope you all like the pic 😊

I don't want Christmas to end. It is strange how these vintage ornaments have darkened on the top like this. All of them are like this. Maybe it is more exposure to the light or air?
