A shot from last spring of a farmer's marsh that has since been bulldozed under. (A female Red-winged Blackbird).
I'm not a farmer, but I do not understand when one has so much land in use, why one cannot keep a tiny wild section free of human interference...
On a different vein, my heart goes out to the Dutch Farmers whose government is trying to force them out of the business of feeding their population.

A Mallard relocating, thinking we have food for it. Although we never bring food, many people do (Rithet's Bog, BC).

Juvenile Peregrine in flight. It was only when I got it on the computer that I realised it had prey in it's talons.
Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.
As my planned trip to the Farne Islands was cancelled this year I have been looking through some old images not previously posted.
When coming in to land with a mouth full of eels, wings splayed and undercarriage down they provide a great photographic opportunity.
Many thanks to everyone that views and comments on my images - very much appreciated.

A full frame distant capture, shots like this are good for book covers don't always have to fill the frame.
These and numerous other brown pelicans were seen from Crissy Field, San Francisco. They were flying back and forth between Golden Gate Bridge and Fort Mason (and possibly further). They also congregated on a small island on Crissy Field Marsh.
For more on the pelicans of San Francisco Bay, see baykeeper.org/news/column/pelicans-san-francisco-bay .
This inflight shot of a Brown Pelican was taken from the Bolivar Ferry during a Feather Fest photography field trip a few years ago. The Feather Fest was cancelled in 2020 but there will be a limited number of excursions this April 2021. There is something about pelicans that is so mesmerizing to me. This photograph along with several others of the Texas Gulf Coast are currently on display at the Galveston Art League on 2117a Postoffice Street through January 24th 2021.
It was a gloomy and very blustery afternoon when we happened upon one of these beautiful looking birds.

Folks have commented about the lack of a horizon line. The shot was taken from above the bird. The blue is the water.
