This was the first bird I learned to identify on sight after we put up our birdfeeders. Their black-and-white markings are distinctive, and I love the up-and-down way they fly.
From a couple of hours at Cromwell Bottom between Brighouse and Elland and then later on the moors above Marsden.
Binoculars and my Handy Seat. The folding seat comes in handy if you want to sit quietly for a few minutes and wait for birds to come (my least favorite part of birdwatching), but its a pain to carry around.
The HANDY SEAT is also handy to have around the house in case you need an extra place for a guest to sit!
