Swap-Bot Group PP: Vintage ATC with a Bingo Card swap

Photo taken at City Tap Dupont

*Added everyone I thought would be interested*

I recently saw a BJD bingo going around flickr, and I got the idea to make a bingo game all doll collectors could participate in. Everyone and anybody can play! just save this and check off whichever ones apply to you, or leave them in the comments.

Most of these are true for me or have happened to me. The ones I can check off are:

-Have given your dolls a makeover hehehe

-Have met little girls that like the fact that you 'speak their language'

-Have met an old lady that collects porcelain (this has happened to me so many times..)

-Still remember or have your first doll

-Have gotten into random rambling conversations about dolls

-Most of your collection is playline

-Own a Disney doll (any brand)

-Own a Barbie (playline or collector)

-Hang out around the toy aisle too much for someone your age

-Don't care when someone thinks badly about your hobby

-Can't keep dolls in their boxes to save your life

-Have gotten weird looks buying dolls in public

-Have met fellow doll collectors in person (unintentionally)

-Friends and family know you collect (well family knows, but I haven't told any of my friends...)

I don’t think a weekday goes by where I don’t see at least one Bingo machine, usually guaranteed to see one of their skip trucks somewhere along a journey. While doing my domestic garbage run I bumped into one of the company’s typical bright orange trucks removing a skip bin from a renovation site. I was stuck behind him temporarily while he lifted the load onto the back and couldn’t resist taking a picture of the action. I’m curious to know how many of these marrels the company runs around Sydney, most of which appear to be these bogies with a few single axles in the mix. They have their heart set on Isuzu no doubt! Also a little while ago those blue safety rails were added to both sides of the platform, which makes me wonder if they were being safety conscious or a driver went overboard while tarping. I haven’t really done any significant work in the skip bin sector, so maybe one day I’ll join the Bingo team for the experience =] Thinking about how heavy some of these skips must get, damn those chains must be bloody tough!

This is my dog, Bingo. He's an overweight Beagle, around 12/13 years old. I'm not 100% sure as we got him from a Beagle rescue place in LA called 'Beagles and Buddies' about 6 years ago.

He's a very sweet and mild dog but getting old.

“So you say things like ‘Two Fat Ladies, 88’?”

“No, we’re not allowed to say those anymore, it’s politically incorrect.”

John Scalzi put together a bingo card of hackneyed arguments for electronic publishing. I figure it's only right to return the favor...

Two squares are the same on both cards. I thought it was worth stressing that both sides use them.

Lest anybody think I'm descending into satire with the Shakespeare square, it was in the New York Times. I admit that it's otherwise so obviously contrary to fact that I'd feel silly including it at all.

(For those who don't know me, I am a professional copyeditor, and I love my career. Almost all my work comes from traditional publishers. This is why I care about well-meaning but misguided arguments that damage my own industry.)

Happy Bokeh Wednesday! Anyone remember Frankie and Annette....Beach Blanket Bingo???

The bingo hall on the corner of Lemyngton Street and Baxter Gate in Loughborough.

The building was opened as an Odeon cinema in 1936. It was designed by Arthur J Price of the Harry Weedon architectural practice, which designed most Odeon cinemas in the 1930s. Following change of ownership, it started hosting bingo (as the Vogue Social Club) in the late 1960s and stopped showing films in the early 70s. It is now called the Beacon Bingo Club. As a very good example of the Odeon cinema design, it is a grade II listed building

Inside a massive abandoned bingo hall in the UK. The place has been left for 20+ years. I light painted the shot as there was no natural light inside the building.

Consuetudine amatissima ,dati i ricchi premi in palio.

Il tabellone della tombola ,pur dopo tutti i cambiamenti dei tempi,... rimane , indistruttibile, quello di 40 anni fa.

The festivals of the country are a source of genuine images and if we are different from the current world citizen. Here we are at Vernasso, 2011, in the province of Udine, about 2000 inhabitants in the north-east of Italy ', a few kilometers from Slovenija. Every year in August, for 40 years, held this festival very much appreciated in the area. Over the years the sets and costumes have changed a lot. The types of music much less because here the tradition it remains a deeply felt. At midnight last night there is the extraction of bingo. Beloved habit, given the rich prizes.

The backboard of bingo, but after all the changes of the times, ... remains, indestructible, that of 40 years ago.

I made these for a bridal shower and used the brides colors to decorate the cookies. I know, my packaging skills are woefully inadequate!

There's been an incident at the Bingo hall. I think someone has been rubbing the balls too vigorously which has caused a short circuit! Oxford Diecast Bedford TK and Base Toys Leyland Mastiff water tanker are in attendance.

In the pharmacy world, this type of packaging is known as a Bingo card. I liked the variations in the repeated shape of the various blisters and decided to try a lighting experiment.

Strobist: 1 Alien Bees 800 camera left and just above the camera axis. Three lighting methods were used; a 10 degree honeycomb grid; a shoot-through umbrella and a beauty dish with a handheld reflector above the card. This shot, using the honeycomb grid, provided the best detail (notice the texture in the foil).

One of the best things about my team is trawling through Dropbox and finding the little gems they've left there for me to discover.
