The bind rune is essentially a special and customized combination of individual runes where the runes are written directly on top of one another to create a new meaning.

Gebo (gifts, both in the sense of sacrifice and of generosity, indicating balance) and Wunjo (joy, comfort, and pleasure) combine to create a partnership giving success and pleasure.

The strongest bind is...you know what. Who said ropes can't be interesting to shoot? I like the details of big ropes and knots very much. It goes very well with the boat theme I'm also interested in. Large version.

Many people walk and cycle along the Pulaski Bridge that unites Brooklyn and Queens. Long Island City-based artist Joel Voisard created Bridge that Binds to enliven the space. Alternatives Queens Committee, the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit, and the children of Andrews Grove, designed graphics of people’s movements such as, walking, cycling, or doing the moon walk, towards the center of the bridge. On the Queens side of the bridge, images were maroon to pay homage to the 7 train and on the Brooklyn side, images are green to reference the G train. Voisard installed a bench made of found lumber in the center of the bridge (overlooking Newton Creek) to create a meeting point between the two boroughs.

Create your own binding. The binder will fold and sew perfectly onto your fabric. Insert the binding into the larger grooves. on the right side of each binder are arrows showing the correct measure to cut the bias strip.

Here are the results of a quasi-scientific investigation into answering the question: "Which bind off is the stretchiest of all for Stockinette stitch?"

Above you can see 4 small swatches. Each swatch is pinned to a blocking board, with the cast on edge to the bottom and the bind-off edge at top.

Each swatch was created by the same person, using the same yarn, with the same amount of stitches, with the same size needles used throughout.

From bottom to the top, the bind-offs used were:

* Lacey Bind Off

* Suspended Bind Off

* Elizabeth Zimmerman's Sewn Bind Off

* Jeny's Super Stretch Bind Off (JSSBO)

The winner of the stretchiest bind-off in our test (from stretchiest to least stretchy):

1. Sewn Bind Off

2. JSSBO

3. Lacey BO

4. Suspended BO

See our website for instruction on these bind offs and more info.

I chose to physically link Churchill and Eisenhower's booklets through the use of a z-bind because from reading both speeches it became apparent that there were many similarities between them. I felt joining them together would further highlight this. They have been printed on the same stock GF Smith Cranes Lettra 120gsm, as I felt the papers rough texture made it feel slightly cheap which was important for both booklets concepts. I stitched the booklets together as this is a cheap production method.

Saint Ludger founded the Werden Abbey (100km west) in 799 and already in 886 Hellefeld is listed being a property of the abbey. Later it belonged to a monastery in nearby Meschede. The connection to the Werden Abbey may give a hint, that Hellefeld was an important place, when, with the strong support of Charlemagne, Saint Ludger and his collegues preached the gospel to the tribes in the mountainous Sauerland.

The romanesque basilica got demolished in the 1870s. Only the old tower survived - and the baptismal font was saved, as it seemed to be "valuable". It was believed to be produced within the 12th century.

It is very unusual, as it is made from plumb (99%) and tin (1%). This is unique, but plumb was mined in the area already since roman times (known as "plumbum germanicum").

This font has been compared with the baptismal font in Wuerzburg (St. Kilian), but that does not help, as that one (casted 1279) is different in style, technique, alloy. The only common feature is, that it is cylindrical.

The connection from Hellefeld to the Werden Abbey gave room to speculation. Meanwhile historians date this baptismal font into the first half of the 9th century - or even older.

Here is what may support the theory, that the vessel is even older than that. We have seen sofar the"rythm" of pillars, the arches, the small heads. Here (unfortunately in the shadow) is a kind of irregularity, as here is a third head. The three heads form a triangle. Above the head in the middle is a punched line, connecting the two capitals. This long line forms the base for two smaller triangels.

This has been interpreted in 2004 as a bind-rune, combining the two runes "Berkana" (standing for health, growth - but as well Freya) and "Kenaz" (standing for wisdom, enlightment - but as well Odin). So the vessel may have been casted, when paganism was still lively in early christian rites - or - as it is known, that large vessels have been status symbols of the pagan tribes, this may even be dated in very early, pre-christian times.

It is a complex theory, and actually there is not really much "hard evidence", but it is very interesting.

Here is a pdf of Ingrid Reissland´s article in GERMAN). Scroll down to page 10 to find the headline "Weihekreuze und Runen". Of course the article has better photos than this.

Svastha Yoga Low Arm Balance Workshop, 13 June 2015

Plötulopi it's too weak to graft with, so I decided to do a 3 needle bind off, the result it's that in one size the union is smooth and in the other there is a little bump, but it's less noticeable than in the picture and I don't really mind.

Besides that side can always be hidden so it's not a big deal!

In South Pentecost local kastom and tradition is to bless the yam harvest. Men build tall towers made of wood and binded together with no nails. Men jump from platforms, each jump moves a bit higher until the last man jumps from the very top. The vines that are bound to the leg stretch and "pop" during the fall, this along with the breaking of the jumping platform slows the men down by snapping them back. The point of this is for the head to touch the freshly tilled ground in order to bless the yams. This is still practised during April-June. This was one very close to the airport. Tourists pay about $120 dollars to watch.

Propuesta de logo para SAONGROUP, para la actualización de su imagen como BIND.

Instead of the I-cord cast-on and bind-off, I did an Itailan cast-on and bind-off. (Actually, I don't know if the BO that I used is actually called "Italian," but it matches the cast-on.)

I ditched the I-cord cast-on because I thought the edge it made was too stiff for the stretchy brioche stitch.
