Instead of the I-cord cast-on and bind-off, I did an Itailan cast-on and bind-off. (Actually, I don't know if the BO that I used is actually called "Italian," but it matches the cast-on.)
I ditched the I-cord cast-on because I thought the edge it made was too stiff for the stretchy brioche stitch.
This Fun Lovin' Kitty {Scooter} played himself into a bind. A curious mouse looks on at this perplexing situation.
2nd square for the eco quilt challenge, "The ties that bind".
This style of quilt square is called "strings", and strings tie things together. When I thought about what ties me to my family and friends, the only thing I could think of is love. Sure, they're all totally different kinds of love, but they're all different shades of the same colour. The colour of love is pink and red...hence why I chose this pattern and colour scheme.
Also, I hand embroidered the word LOVE in the middle. That took the longest of all!
The bind rune is essentially a special and customized combination of individual runes where the runes are written directly on top of one another to create a new meaning.
In this case Sowulo represents the sun (also success, goals achieved, honor) and when combined with Kano (AKA Kenaz) and Inguz (completion rune) can provide the inner strength to repel negative energies and illness.
