Oh, silly, silly me. There I was, novice knitter (read: I knew how to knit, how to purl, how to join for rounds. No inc/dec action, no cables, no lace...and I was erroneously knitting all my stitches through the back loop) and I felt it was a FABOO idea to not only give intarsia a try...but to do it in the round. Here's where I started. Armed with a 10.5US 16" circ, bobbins, and some TLC Lustre...I dropped it all in my lap over a New Kids on the Block comforter (property of my die-hard fan friend AL) and went to town...having no idea the horrors that would await me in the future of this scarf.

Yet another species for the backyard. I am really pleased with the variety this year.

To all my photographer friends please read: We planted the white butterfly bush 2 years ago. This is the first year it is really taking off. Almost 5' tall and 3' wide already. Everything we plant is with the hope of catching something on it to photograph. I don't mind telling you this color is a BIG MISTAKE! I took over 200 shots of this butterfly and got less than a handful of keepers. An exposure nightmare! Unless you are trying to capture something of a similar tone (like yesterdays Tiger Swallowtail and Orange Sulphur). So go ahead and plant one LMAO.

BTW we have just about every color butterfly bush I have seen to date and if this sucker woulda landed on any of the others I wouldn't be writing this but it kept going back to the white LOL.

For visitors to Lake Lanier's parks, one bird is ubiquitous and unavoidable. Canada geese were introduced to the lake decades ago by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources ( NOTE by Robert LZ ~ One Big Mistake, They (GD of NR) are slow to apprehend.) Instead of migrating, the birds took up permanent residence and multiplied and Multiplied and multiplied.

Now the geese and their droppings can be (ARE) a nuisance

The guys shackled Scott early in the day. By all accounts, he took it in stride.

this is what happens when you impulse buy a swish new 900mm wide freestanding oven, but your kitchen accommodates a 600mm wide wall oven.

So far we ripped out the pantry, and the wall unit the oven rested in, tomorrow it is installation of the new oven and then we rip out the bench the other side so we can center it.

Then it is on to actually trying to find the money to replace the kitchen around the new oven. Maybe we can start a trend for units crafted from tui beer crates held together with number 8 fencing wire, and backed with corrugated iron

Pabst Blue Ribbon... how you know you're in Richmond, VA.

It had been such a good day, until I decided to refuel. If I hadn't have needed fuel, I wouldn't have got my car wedged on top of a squashed plastic traffic bollard. Utterly embarrassing, rather scary and an expensive mistake. Oops.

I was amazed at the help, from passers by. Within five minutes there were seven men attempting to remove my car from said bollard. They did succeed, after around half an hour of partially blocking both carriageways of busy Chertsey traffic. I was so grateful.

The irony is that the most expensive damage was caused by the helpful people in the first, unsuccessful method of removing the car. Ah well.

What IS this stuff, this sticky, gooey, gets-stuck-to-your-clothes-and-matted-in-your-hair stuff? Mould-a-foam, apparently. Don't do it. You have been warned.

Toby was out of luck on this occasion (although I did give him the biscuit that went with my coffee). I've never had a clotted cream scone at 0930 before, and I don't think I'll do so again. Nuff said.

We very quickly noticed something very wrong with this ad we saw on the train to Philadelphia. New York City does not have 18 million people, although if you ride the Lexington Avenue subway at rush hour, it feels like it does.

From the NYC Department of City Planning:

As of July 1, 2007, the population of the City of New York was 8,310,212

I dyed my hair red- figured if I was going to be Statue of Liberty for Halloween I should at least have copper hair. The box said washes out in "8 to 10" shampoos. I've washed it 6 times now, and it's just as red as ever. *sigh* Help!!!!! Maybe I should at least dye my eyebrows to match?????

This is the aftermath of the blood application, I am holding bottles of blood that were used to create the effect.

It tastes good to.

This was the first time since graduation that all 8 roomates from senior year (+ Ben) had been together. Unfortunately, this was the closest I came to getting a picture of all of us.
